Guest guest
Has there been much flu at Amma's programs this Fall, either in Europe or now in San Ramon? Or have many people come down with it after coming home?
Guest guest
Namah Shivaya, I haven't heard anything about it on the fall tour, but friends of mine who were at San Ramon in June said H1N1 was very much in circulation there at the time. They got sick with it. Perhaps enough people caught it on the first wave that there will be less of it this fall? Guest guest
Until they cancel Amma's tour stops (along with other public gatherings and/or sports events), I will not worry about H1N1. I also do not plan to get a H1N1 shot, and probably not the seasonal flu shot as well. I actually have something called an immune system, and it's worked quite well for me over the last 49 years. There are not going to be corpses dropping dead in the streets. This ain't 1918. It also ain't SARS, which forced the cancellation of Amma's 2003 Australia and Singapore tour. If there had been a Toronto tour stop in 2003, it probably would have also been SARSed out, but Amma didn't start coming to the Great White North until 2004. Om Amrtesvaryai Namah! Namaskarams dear sister Pranada: i noticed that you commented on the H1N1 flu being in evidence at the summer san ramon programs...i wonder if you noticed whether it was in evidence at the Toronto programs as well? i ask because almost immediately after my wife, Easwari and i got home we got very sick for a while...for me it went on and on and on....and wore me out with pneumonia for a couple months or more...no work during that period...still not back at work as i'm trying to build up my strength again....our symptom appeared to conform with the H1N1 but at the time i didn't realise it. only much later, like last week did i realise how similar they were.... so perhaps that vaccination i got was too late........ in Amma's Divine Love, and in Her Service, as ever, your own Self, visvanathan
Guest guest
Namah Shivaya, Visvanathan, Good question. I don't recall anyone coming down with it in Toronto this summer, other than the ones who picked it up in San Ramon in June. It's hard to tell because so many of us are so exhausted by the end of the program that we just sort of crash with something that might look like a cold, or flu, or just flat-out exhaustion. I have often gotten bad colds and laryngitis right after seeing Amma - I know the energetic pattern that underlies this tendency for me, and it's part of bringing stuff to the surface for clearing. H1N1 actually made the rounds in our satsang a few weeks ago.
