Gee, never saw that coming. > Om Amrtesvaryai Namah!! Namaskarams! did you actually hear Her say this yourself, or are you repeating it second hand from what someone has told you? i wonder just how true that is, whether She really said that.....and if She did, whether that comment was specifically aimed at a particular person....because perhaps that person was asking " theoretical " questions...ie...asking questions but doing nothing about the answers....or asking questions, but not doing any sadhana...... it strikes me as very strange that She would say that as a general comment directed at Her entire " family " of devotees....because what else can one expect? how many masters have come into this world trying to help us towards illumination and moksha....and how many of us have actually responded in such a way as to become illumined...to be free.... i really don't believe that Amma would be expecting a large number of folks to get enlightened, or " wake up " or get realised....it just flies in the face of what Jesus said, and as well what Krsna told his devotee and friend, Arjuna...He said that among the millions and billions of humans, only a very very few are interested in spiritual life, interested in liberation...and of the millions of those, only a very few of THEM will attain liberation in this life.....so... why would Amma, Who is always telling us that we have to realise just how folks really are...to see what they are like, with all their faults and so on, and just move forward with that....why would She be talking in such a frustrated way, that we are not " waking up " ?? Surely She of all people should know that only a very few, if any, of Her devotees will attain liberation in this life, unless She GIVES it...after all is not liberation as much a gift of Grace from the Divine as it is the result of our own labours? actually is it not really ENTIRELY the gift of Grace? so why would we or She expect that we limited human beings on our own are going to get liberated? and why would we or She be frustrated that it is not happening enough on whose schedule? it just doesn't ring true..... i do hope, dear Tom, that this letter is not too overly long winded and boring to you....i do know that you really don't like reading my letters much...but i simply had to respond to your comments re Amma's alleged statements about how we are not waking up as we should.... in Her Divine Love, and in Her Service, as ever, your own Self, visvanathan Om Amrtesvaryai Namah!
