Guest guest
Namaste dear Tom bluepearlight it has been a while since we heard from you, hope all is good for you. . .. i wanted to respond to a comment you made: " Amma said she's getting tired of answering people's questions when no one is waking up or getting realized. " i remember that Swamiji wrote in one of the introductions of Awaken Children that Amma answers questions, each answer that is given is for the particular person or circumstance. . . i was not at that satsang but that response from Amma was meant for me. .. .for i am definitely one that has received the inexpressible abundance of Amma's grace and guidance and i hav not utilized it with commitment and discipline that is needed for realization. . . Thanks Tom, perhaps now the message has been delivered where it needed to be, you can unburden yourself from making it about Amma or other Amma devotees. . . i needed to hear that answer. . . Thanks for delivering it. . . Aum Amriteswaryai Namaha marci ordinary sparrow Ammachi , " bluepearllight " <bluepearllight wrote:
Guest guest
Well, a couple years ago the word was put out not to share the amritapuri satsangs on the internet. What I got was just that one line, which I felt was worth sharing as it speaks volumes. Especially to those that may feel there's many (ie, Advaitic) 'awakened' people out there. Unfortunately, I've learned that people have been sharing those Amritapuri satsangs on Facebook. Not yet a word about the composting or the sewage handling. No amount of consensus will overturn reality. Om Amrtesvaryai Namah! Namaskarams!! yeah.....i'd definitely agree with you on that one....i think that there are very few....probably you could count them on one hand, or maybe two, " awakened " folks out there in the " real world " ... still i would wonder why Amma would say such a thing, unless it was to make the point that there are precious few of the awakened ones around....despite what their egos might be telling them.... on the other hand perhaps that person who asked the question was the one who was annoying Her with asking questions, but doing no sadhana or seva or whatever s/he had been instructed to do, and perhaps Amma was just trying to get a bit more commitment out of the questioner??? or just trying to get the person to stop asking useless questions that s/he will do nothing about.....people do ask such funny questions as i'm sure you've heard in your own experience. of course i have no idea....but it does still sound a bit strange if directed at all of Her devotees...unless for the same reason as just above.... " get to work children...you've still got a long way to go... " i suspect that most of Her devotees are mostly all talk and not much action in that department, just like the devotees of all the other teachers. i have to say, tom, that i'm a little surprised to see you back corresponding with the Amma list, considering your earlier (last year) expressions of frustration, and anger with the members (especially me!)...but hey....it's interesting to read your take on things, even if we don't always agree.....although i'd suspect you wouldn't agree that it goes the other way too..... in Her Divine Love, and in Her Service, as ever, your own Self, visvanathan Om Amrtesvaryai Namah! Guest guest
This is really ridiculous, don't you think? Can any one of you even imagine Amma ever making such outrageous statement? Good grief. That is probably the most absurd thing I have ever heard of. I think it's totally bogus and made up. Or perhaps She really said something ELSE and it got like reeeeally twisted. That is my .02. I don't buy it AT ALL. " Amma said she's getting tired of answering > people's questions when no one is waking up or > getting realized. Guest guest
Well, V, your points (snipped for brevity) would be an explanation except that: A couple years ago when the Amritapuri satsangs were being shared via the internet, she put the word out that she didn't want them shared that way, because " Those satsangs are intended for those who were there, at amritapuri. " So, doubters, like the other response, can rationalize that they don't have to take it seriously because, since they weren't there when she said it, it does not apply to them. Regarding the validity, when I posted the statement elsewhere, I was informed that the satsang, presumably the full satsang had been shared all over Facebook previously. I only became aware of it a few weeks after the satsang. Regarding my feelings towards devotees, none of that has changed, V. Guest guest
Om Namah Sivaya I'm surprised at the outrage I'm hearing re:this. Amma talks like this a lot in the Amritapuri satsangs and I've heard her make several similar statements. Why the outrage? Just because she's a little more fiery then what you're used to hearing in the West during her tours here. Do you think a realized being is always docile and pampering to her disciples? She often says that no one has the intensity it takes to wake up to the ashramites and in the earlier days threatened to leave her body (she used to always say this according to old-timers) if people didn't wake-up, shape-up or get disciplined. Even in the West she has admitted that she's waiting for one person who is able to receive what she so much wants to give, but no luck and that most people are after trinkets. I can very well picture Amma saying something like this. She can be very blunt in Amritapuri, and at times not everything is translated because of this, and she often complains about the mentality and consciousness of the sadhaks.
