Guest guest
Dear Keval ~ somehow, I never expected this type of post from you. Are you really attempting to dis Amma, as it sounds, or just sharing points of view of others. To complete the circle, though, I will add that the other day I was watching " Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, " and one of the questions was " who is known as the hugging saint? " It made me very happy to see that Amma had achieved that level of significance in the general culture. Of course, the person got it wrong. C'est la vie. The newest is a farm near Georgetown. Sure the hugs are free, but... There are donation boxes. And if you want to stay for the two-day retreat, it's $345... **************A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above. See yours in just 2 easy steps! Guest guest
Namaste . . . not to worry dear Linda. . . .there are those that do not understand Amma and what She is about. . . .only because " they do not know who they are yet " So how can they recognize one such as Her? . . . tacky things like this use to hurt but nowadays i am so assured, Amma knows Who She IS, in the most profound and ultimate way, that i just smile shake the head and say a prayer they too shall find the grace of Amma as this child has known. . . . i think Keval was just sharing the " audacity of density " , i was surprised it came from Canada, for i would of thought this sounds more like something that would come from us free willing U.S.ers. . . i have a tendency to place Canada on a higher cool status than US at times . . . not to worry dear Linda, even though i can readily understand that when someone is narrow and ignorant about Amma our Mother that we can feel hurt and offended. . . .My Native ancestors use to say; " When one is leading the the pack, others are going to be nipping their heels, and it seems to me Amma has been dealing with those that nip Her heals since the time She was born. . . .and how many stories do we Her of her turning around and showing them love??? Where there is a nip there is hope, for someone is being introduced to Amma, and part of them that is True recognizes the One . . . just a delay between their heart and soul and the mind . . .we have been there too love to you dear sister, and lover of our Mother ordinary sparrow (marci) On Sat, Jul 18, 2009 at 10:46 AM, <nierika wrote: > > > Dear Keval ~ somehow, I never expected this type of post from you. If you disagree with this piece of garbage, you can contact the writer directly at mike.strobel I think a former member of this group who lives in the Washington DC area could have penned a similar cynical troll-baiting article. Yes, the general population, the average Joe Sixpack or Sally Soccermom is likely to have heard of Amma through the mainstream media, or at least has a vague idea that there is an Indian woman out there whose schtick is to hug people. But with articles like the one that appeared in the Toronto Sun, that present Amma as little more than a one-dimensional Ripley's Believe it or Not character, or as a remnant of the 1960s hippie counter-culture, or as just another money-grubbing guru who became a multi-millionaire by milking westerners, is it any wonder that I am reluctant to share anything about Amma, and feel that I have to check Amma at the door unless I am in a safe environment such as a yoga studio or Hindu temple? Many Hindus believe in the deities but not in Gurus. They see so many Gurus back in India that they are confused now about who is genuine and who is not and more importantly do not want waste time analyzing these things. And some can be vehemently anti-Guru, much worse than the cynical reporter here and even more than the " exAmma " types. To each his own. Jai Ma!
