Dear brothers and sisters in Amma ~ I have a desire, with a request and am

hoping one of you will have the knowledge and also can make a video for

placement on YouTube. I chant the " 108 Names " of Amma, first in the Sanskrit

transliteration, then in English. Well, first I have a question. Are the

translations given in " The Archana Book " Sanskrit or Malayalam. They seem

Sanskrit to me, but I'd like to be sure.

Also a wonderful seva someone could do would be to make a video with images

of Amma (marci is incredibly gifted with this) and have the " music " be the

correct way of chanting the Sanskrit version of the " 108 Names. " I always

feel a bit plagued by doubt when I am chanting and so much would love to

have the correct pronunciation to listen to. I know there is the

transliteration " dictionary " at the end of the " Archana, " but even so, I still

don't

feel I am getting it right, and it would make a huge difference to be able to

hear it.

I pray someone will take this sadhana for the benefit of Amma's children

who have difficulty with pronunciation. Jai Ma!

~ Linda

Namah Shivaya, Linda,

This seva has already been undertaken. The Amma Shop has a multimedia CD of the

108 Names of Amma with animation and images for each name. You can check it out

at http://www.theammashop.org/cd108.html

The 108 Names of Amma have been recorded a few times now. In addition to the CD

above, it is on the " Chants " CD, relatively slowly, and on " Chants 2 " , more

quickly, recorded live by Big Swami at a Devi Bhava. Both are available through

the Amma Shop.

Jai Ma,

Pranada

But if you can't afford the CD, i'd be happy to go over some names

with you on the phone, Linda. The Sanskrit is not so difficult as

English, because the sounds are always pronounced the same way. Once

you've learned the sounds (as they are transliterated) then you can

read them easily. The long a, the short a, the dh, bh and all the

rest.

Email me offlist if you want to do this.

mp3 108 names of Amma from the Puja cassette,

chanted in call-and-response form like when Dayamrita visits:

More related files here:

Youtube limits videos to 10 minutes for ordinary

account holders, too short for 108 names in one video.
