Guest guest
Dear Amarnath ~ it was wonderful to read the account of Amma celebrating Shivaratri. You told it as if you were there. So I am confused. How did you come up with such a present and personal accounting? Does the Amritapuri website have a way to watch Amma observing these special days, like via webcam. I know that with Devi Mandir, you can log on and actually, in a sense, be there by directly watching, the observance of Shivaratri or Navaratri. Or was there an article on the Amritapuri website? I would love to know. Thank you as always for your inspiring words. Jai Ma Shiva Ki Jai ! Linda P.S. I guess many people will now understand the meaning of Jai after seeing the dance number, Jai Ho (not sure about the Ho), as part of " Slumdog Millionaire. " I saw just the performance of the dance with the song on Oprah, and it was incredible. I am so glad that something of Indian culture is now becoming more accepted in the West. Now it is not just pockets of devotees around the U.S., but the whole world who had access to this. I know the " story " in its truth telling of a young poor boy rising above his circumstances as perhaps not the best introduction to India, but how far reaching is this message... Now I can't wait to see the movie. When I saw some interviews with the young actor (I apologize for not remembering his name), he said that, yes, the poverty shown was very bad, but real, but that the point of the movie was to show that an individual or many individuals may find a way to rise above and step out of this poverty. It reminded me so much of all Mother's projects to help the poor ~ the food kitchens, the technical and other types of schools, the hospital, the building of new homes ... and on and on. It made me want to, more than ever, find some way each month to celebrate and support Amma's work ... perhaps a monthly donation or something like that. I am so happy that Amma is a living demonstration of upflifment for all who " tune in " and witness Her actions and devotion. Jai Mata Amma!!!! ~ Linda Amrnath wrote: " ...also i like to look at the dichotomy of deva and asura as divya to shine. our ability to look inside and see our inner shining. and asura as our desire to look out into the world. the play of looking within and looking outside. the more we look outside we see duality. the more we look within we see unity. to the extent that we look outside to reaffirm what we find inside i would say that this is how the devas and asuras work together to churn the milk ocean . the amrita is that eyes open or closed i am firmly established in oneness with god.
