Guest guest
Aum Amriteschwaryai Namah Namah Shivaya, I realized I did not really give any background on what has happened. What happened to our family is incredibly upsetting over my aunt. She was a health nut. She is 78 and has no wrinkles! Really! She worked out EVERY day on a treadmill. Even in the hospital the physical therapist showed her some exercises she could do while in bed and my aunt did it. She THRIVED on life and lit up the room with her glowing positive zest for life. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer 3 weeks ago. She had a procedure to remove fluids that were filling her body in what turned out to be cancer. Surgery was done and the cancer was everywhere like sandpaper as the doctor put it. She did great after this surgery. Then she had pneumonia and have to have a vent to breath, then perotonitis. So the surgery to find the source of the perotonitis was done. The doctors warned it was incredibly risky and she may not survive the surgery. She came back full force AGAIN! We believe her excellent health contributed to her each miraculous recovery. Undaunted, she planned to fight the cancer as best she could. Upbeat and wildly entertaining, she kept us all laughing. Then a tube was left out by an error at the hospital. She suffered an air embolism and had a massive stroke and heart attack. They found she only had 5% of her brain working. Her cancer doctor said this was absolutely unfortunate because she probably would have lived at least 7 more months if this had not happened. According to her medical directive she did not want artificial life sustaining support so all support was removed. They said she would die within minutes. Well due to her great health, she is still alive and it's torture. Her entire body is unable to move due to this massive stroke so it's just time. So this is why we are asking for prayers for her speedy end. It has been 7 days and it's torture to see her panting for breath the whole thing is torture for us. A friend shared with me that her outer experience may not match her inner one. God I hope that is so true. Your prayers are appreciated. We know that everything is for a good reason that we do not understand. Like the suffering of so many we know that it's all karma and in Amma's hands. I " m sorry if this was too long. My sadness is big. She was like my own mother to me. thanks, in Amma, Adriane
Guest guest
Samarpana just bought " Journey of Souls ~ case studies of life between lives " by Michael Newton We just started reading it and the first message seems to be that death is a great release from the burdens and pain of the physical body for the soul which journeys on … Peace Pilgrim, who did have a near-death-experience before leaving her body few decades later, wrote: " Death is a beautiful liberation into a freer life. The limiting clay garment, the body, is put aside. The self-centered nature goes with you to learn and grow on the disembodied side of life, and then returns here into a suitable clay garment and suitable circumstances to learn the lessons we need to learn. Could we but see a bit deeper into life, we would grieve at birth and rejoice at death. If we but knew how short is the earth life in comparison with the whole, we would be less troubled with the difficulties of the earth life than we are troubled now with the difficulties of one of our days. " Also, I would like to offer this advice for the caretakers, especially those on spiritual path, so that we do not project unnecessary " mental suffering " on our loved ones, which we may be attaching to the physical situation that we see; our loved ones may already be more surrendered and therefore more freer from the mental suffering we feel. From advaitic point of view, " suffering " is mainly the conditioned mental processes which we attach to the " physical pain " and the saying goes: In life, physical pain/limitation is unavoidable and best to accept it fully; mental suffering is an option; mental suffering is the story we weave around the physical situation. Accepting fully the unavoidable physical pain/limitation simply frees us from the mental suffering-confusion, so that we can see more clearly what should or should not be done for the highest good. This advice does not exclude any appropriate feelings of love, compassion, grieving, etc at appropriate times. My belief is that Amma will be with Her devotees at the time of our passing. Amma Bless, amarnath

Guest guest
Namah Shivaya Amarnath, These are great words to share and I appreciate it deeply. Many in our family have felt that my aunt was detached from her body and probably did not really feel the suffering that we witnessed. We felt she had already checked out and was waiting on ..something. Maybe it was finally for my disabled sister to see her. After that visit with my mom-she is my mom's only and baby sister, then she left us. It's a blessing and I am fortunate that most of my family are very spiritual people. And being Irish, my dad always said we cry at birth and celebrate life. He is no longer here now either but he was the one always cracking jokes with us in the funeral parlor. So because of his legacy he did teach me and my family to have humor in difficult situations. Thanks to everyone for their kind loving thoughts. Amma will be here in 5 months!!
