Guest guest
Just in case there are some folks here whose hearts would love to drive to Pine Ridge with Themba but for one reason or another, they can't go right now, or maybe couldn't go because of their health, or small children, or ill parents, there is a seva that you can do in your own home that can life the consciousness of this world a little. You don't need a passport. Nothing scarey or expensive in involved either. Circle of Love Letters is a program where volunteers write letters of love and support to people in the community who are sick or perhaps grieving or lonely. The gift of the program is that you get to lift your own spirit and open your own heart as you look for things to share with others. You volunteer for a term of three months and then you can decide if you want to continue. Contact circleofloveletters to volunteer. The director, Sivamayi of the St. Louis (MO) Satsang, has had many requests for letters now and needs more folks to write. I wrote letters for this program for some years and directed it for a while until starting Circle of Love Inside, the prison correspondence program. Last year, when I was going through the scarey process of being screened for cervical cancer, I agreed to receive letters from the program. Wow! People shared their spiritual journey, their challenges, the creative ways that they found to live the love that Amma is with me. Some letters were just unforgettable. I am so grateful to have been part of helping that program that brings so much uplift and comfort continue.
