Guest guest
not really Amma-related, but FYI if you're into jyotish and other astro things, or are planning to visit India this summer http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/SEmono/TSE2009/TSE2009.html On Wednesday, 2009 July 22, a total eclipse of the Sun is visible from within a narrow corridor that traverses half of Earth. The path of the Moon's umbral shadow begins in India and crosses through Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar and China. After leaving mainland Asia, the path crosses Japan's Ryukyu Islands and curves southeast through the Pacific Ocean where the maximum duration of totality reaches 6 min 39 s. A partial eclipse is seen within the much broader path of the Moon's penumbral shadow, which includes most of eastern Asia, Indonesia, and the Pacific Ocean. Guest guest
Its a general belief,to receive blessings of Pitrus.Just as we do in Amavasyams.I am sure Amma would talked about it in one of her speeches.Old Amma devotees should be able to throw info on this. Shri Amma Sharanam Mama! sb.... The solar eclipse on 22 July 2009AD,Ashadha no moon day will be at Sunrise just as at the time of Mahabharata war on 10 Sept 3008BC,Kartik Krishna 13. 10 Sept 3008BC to 22 July 2009AD = 1832371 days=62050 lunar months=5286.4887 ecliptic years. Average synodic month for last 5017 years is 29.53056102 days ( calculating by Kepler's Law and Delta T correction) Average ecliptic year is 346.614 days. On 10 Sept 3008BC,Rahu was near Sun. On 22 July 2009AD,ketu will be near Sun.
