We are not looking at the world through rosy glasses; we know what the nature of this illusory world is like. But, we cannot despair and give way to all the negativity and violence. manoj, you are of course right everything that happens is karma and as long as we are not awakened we are under its sway and do not see things clearly; but Amma is urging us to awaken so that we can really see things as they are; past karma cannot be changed, but what we do right now does influence what happens in future is what Amma teaches. I'm reminded of something from the movie Gandhi. During the bloodshed between the Hindus and the Muslims, Gandhi was fasting and near death. A Hindu came to Gandhi and confessed that he was going to hell because he avenged his son's death by killing Muslims. Gandhi said, " I know a way out of hell; find a boy about your son's age, and raise him as your own; but make sure that he is a Muslim and that you raise him as a Muslim. " These are the teachings of the great ones. May God and Amma bless all of us with the infinite inner strength needed to follow their teachings of HOPE, LOVE, COMPASSION, SELFLESS-SERVICE, FORGIVENESS, ETC. Let us all work for: UNITY instead of divisiveness LOVE, HOPE instead of fear COMPASSION instead of hatred PEACE and DIPLOMACY instead of aggressiveness and war humility instead of ARROGANCE Thanks for listening and Amma Bless, amarnath
Guest guest
The one threat that really threatens humanity's very existence is global warming. The doomsday scenarios on this are very very scary, I must say. Once it reaches the tipping point (which some scientists believe can happen in a generation if we don't reverse it), apparently nothing can stop it and it will be too late. Hopefully we won't let it happen. Amma talks about this issue in many different ways. Also I remember Peace Pilgrim once said that we need to make peace with our environment.
