exactly my thoughts; I don't know exactly what the solution is;

but I am moved by the following words on non-violence,

even though I don't know exactly how it is possible

for the world to embrace these words:

" Go my friend bestow your love even on your enemies

if you touch their hearts what do you think will happen. " —Rumi

" All we are saying is give peace a chance. " —John Lennon.

" One day we must come to see that peace is not merely a distant goal

that we seek, but that it is a means by which we arrive at that goal.

WE must pursue peaceful ends through peaceful means. " — Martin Luther

King, Jr.

The prophets used to pray :

" O Allah, You are peace and from you is peace. And unto you is Peace

so let us live in Peace. "

" But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who

hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.

If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If

someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic.

Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to

you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to

you.

" If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even

'sinners' love those who love them. And if you do good to those who

are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' do that.

And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit

is that to you? Even 'sinners' lend to 'sinners,' expecting to be

repaid in full. But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to

them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be

great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to

the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

Gandhi's non-violence:

Horace Alexander, who knew Gandhi and saw him in action, graphically

describes the attitude of the nonviolent resister to his opponent: " On

your side you have all the mighty forces of the modern State, arms,

money, a controlled press, and all the rest. On my side, I have

nothing but my conviction of right and truth, the unquenchable spirit

of man, who is prepared to die for his convictions than submit to your

brute force. I have my comrades in harmlessness. Here we stand; and

here if need be, we fall. " Far from being a craven retreat from

difficulty and danger, nonviolent resistance demands courage of a high

order, the courage to resist injustice without rancor, to unite the

utmost firmness with the utmost gentleness, to invite suffering but

not to inflict it, to die but not to kill.

dear Amarnath. . . am with you on this one. . .i truly do not know what the

solution is either. . . my heart is heavy about the state of the world at

present. . . . have read many times about maya and the illusion of the

world but all i have to do is walk in Nature and also know its incredible

beauty and blessing,. . .i want heaven down here. . .naive as that is. . .

Carl Jung said the only chance for the humanity is consciousness. . . ( so

the fate of our world is probably much more in our hands as children of Amma

than in the hands of the " terrorpaths " * and Amma, Gandhi, and so many of the

great teachers have tried to show us the way. . .i just hope what humankind

is revealing through these days is the dark before morning light. . .

Last week while thinking about the tragedy in India wished i could talk to

someone with deep knowledge of of Hindu mythology. . .started thinking about

the final battle of Ram and Ravana as in the epic Ramayan. .

..hope i relate this brief summary correctly. . . the story of Rama (good

King) and Ravana (demon=bad tendencies). . . Ravana cannot be killed because

his soul has been removed from his body and kept in a glass shrine. . .and

this is the reason no one can kill him. . .After endless battles Ravana

continues to escape for he has many heads and arms and every time one is

taken in battle another grows back. . .Finally Ravana's own brother comes

forth and reveals his brother's weak spot. . .He tells Rama his brother

cannot be killed by a blow to the head, heart, or neck or elsewhere but can

only be killed if Rama can hit the exact spot of the umbilicus. . .for then

the life sustaining nectar would spill and Ravana would die. . .The next day

Rama is able to bring the death to Ravana. . .then in the wonderful way of

Eastern philosophy. . .Ravana is remembered for good deeds as well as his

bad deeds. . .He is honored for his knowledge of scriptures and vedas. . .as

as he dies he is passing rich knowledge of politics, statesmanship,

sociology, and diplomacy for the betterment of others. . .

I am not for sure the significance of the umbilical here?. . .but wonder

if symbolically it means Ravana was severed from that which is feeding the

bad tendencies?. . and also when he was severed from the umbilical cord then

perhaps like a baby this is when the soul could take the first breath?. . .

are the " terrorpaths " * infants souls that have not gathered first

breath?. . .and perhaps healing is not possible until they are severed from

that which is feeding them, both the inner and outer?. . . Along with the

umbilical would go the third chakra?. . .What would be the signifiance of

the Umbilical rather than the head or heart or other places of the body?. .

..Also i wonder if it is possible Amarnath for the ones that bring such

devastation of the innoncent to hear the message of one such as Amma?. . .

..Ravana's soul was removed from his body and kept in a glass container. .

..What is the spiritual signifiance here? With glass the soul could gaze out

but nothing get touch it?. . . .Another thing i thought was significant in

the story of Ravana is that it was his brother that came forth and revealed

Ravana's weak spot. . . .Perhaps that is the remaining hope that true

Muslims come forth and reveal that which will bring the cessation of

terrorism?. . .

Last week i read a site set up for two of the persons murdered in Mumbai,

Alan Scherr and his daughter Naomi, age 13… he a meditation teacher and

astrologer and his daughter a young gifted vibrant soul child . . . They

belonged to a group called Synchronicity Community. . .There was numerous

comments like the one below taunting the ones that where genuine expression

of sympathy. . .that is when once again i found myself asking the too often

question WHY?. . . .

*Here, from the condolence site set up for Alan and Naomi's memory: *

ALLAH

PRAISE BE TO ALLAH!!! ALLAH WANTS ALL AMERICANS DEAD. THE PROPHECIES WILL

NOT BE REALIZED UNTIL ALL INFIDELS ARE SLAUGHTERED AND ALL MEN ARE BROUGHT

UNDER THE HOLY LAW OF ALLAH WITH WOMEN AS THEIR FAITHFUL SERVANTS. NOBODY IS

ENLIGHTENED UNTIL THEY ARE UNDER THE HOLY LAW OF ALLAH. AND NOT ALL WHO

CLAIM TO BE MUSLIMS ARE MUSLIM, BUT RATHER INFIDELS WHO SHALL ALSO PERISH.

PRAISE BE TO ALLAH FOR THIS GLORIOUS VICTORY OVER THE INFIDELS!

* After reading the article from India and how many in India are saying that

terrorist are not Muslim, Hindu, or Christians. . .i so agree and made the

decision that i am no longer going to use the words Radical Islam or

Fundamentalist Muslims, for it is such a discredit to Islam and what is true

about Islam. . .Linking terroist with a religion legitimizes them and their

cause. . . I am meditating and praying for our world and those that bring

such harm, and i am also angry for the senseless violence. . .and from that

anger i am calling them " terropaths " . . . .for it places the emphasis on

personal pathology rather than their deluded righteous religious cause. .

..we have words for the pathology of self. . .there are psychopaths, there

are sociopaths, and for me there are " terropaths " . . .

The week before the Mumbai bombings i saw a picture of a young Iraqi girl

that had been killed in a bombing in Bhagdad. . .The picture made me so sad

and found myself in the evening putting on the Kirtana song Happy Birthday

Jesus on replay. . .so after several evening i put together a UTUBE

slideshow to show the faces of war. . .There is a part of me that realizes

it would of probably been better to put up sweet beautiful messages but

these are the faces i am seeing these days and my heart is sad for the

children, for the innocent, for our world at this time. . .

This is my first attempt to create a video and my skills are elementry. .

..but i find Kirtana's song one that can send my heart and prayer. . .and

allow me to move the energy. . .

Thanks for listening as i ponder and sort through the feelings and thoughts.

You must be stupid to talk like this. People like you with your thinking and

mindest are not a part of the real world.

Islam and Christianity are the terror breeding religions.

The actual political term is Islamic Jihadists as all that practice

Islam are not believers of Jihad. So those groups in terrorism are

known as " Jihadists " to set them apart from peace loving Muslims and

Islamists.

Just returned from Michigan. If you know anyone who is blind and

practices IAM we are developing some tools to make it easier to

practice. Please send their information to me at ammastlouis

I have heard and read many Islamic leaders making the distinction on not

calling the terrorist Jihadist because they see Jihd as having a

much deeper meaning of Holy War. . . Holy War

as a deeply personal spiritual call which leads to surrendering to the

Divine. . .Amma has

said something very similar about the true meaning of Jihd. . .i will

try to find it and post it later. . .

Here is a quote from prominent Islamic

leaders in Afganstan. . .

Lahore, Ulema Council: suicide attacks are " un-Islamic "

by Qaiser Felix

Prominent Islamic scholars in the country recall that only the state can

proclaim jihad, and not extremist groups. A fatwa has been issued against

the attackers who bloody the country. Archbishop of Lahore: " no religion

approves of terrorism.. .

All this is fine.

But a religion, or a (secular) state, which can't control these

elements from hijacking the mainstream (peace-loving etc)

religion, ..... has ISSUES, IMHO.

Now where is that being addressed in all these lip-service statements?

I guess religion thinks that it is not its problem to deal with it,

and the state apparently thinks it is not its problem either!

These statements are just CYA everytime a new terrorist incident

happens. It seems to be the " right and enough " politically-correct

stand to deal with the current fire to make sure they (religion

and/or the state) do not get torpedoed in the oncoming political

avalanche.

Who is really taking a responsible stance towards this from a long-

term perspective? should anyone really take such a stand?

or does it even matter? after all, it's just silly middle-class or

lower citizens of another country who die, right? who really bloody

cares? do even the middle-classers care ENOUGH?

we are all in this together ... we get what we deserve. KARMA. Is

this SAAKSHI-BHAVA in action? if so, it is terrible to endure.
