Guest guest
Dear marci ~ beautifully said, and received here. Many thanks and a Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving to you, even though I am writing the next day. For me, the whole month of November is Thanksgiving. I bring out my special November items. October pumpkins remain in place (hanging over my spice rack) through the end of November. My hand quilted hearts, one set held together in a group, saying " Blessings, " are still hung. Other hearts, large and small, in fall colors, some quilted and some not, get placed around the house, leaning against a shelf here or several in a bowl there. One of my favorites is one patterned fabric (reddish brown) with " Blessing " embroidered on it. My November dried wild flowers that I gather in neighboring woods are placed in a vase and on my book shelf. People who visit have loved it, and that makes me happy. For me it is the same as worship, only applied to my home as the space. Then, after Thanksgiving, I gradually remove these items, and on December first I start to put out the Christmas hearts ... I want to celebrate the winter too, but was never able to get around to making winter hearts. When I get a new (portable) sewing machine, I will add those. I' m not sure why I wanted to share this with you and the group, but something inside me pushed on my heart. In a way, it is making gratitude visible so it can remind me all month long. Real " Thanksgiving " isto accept all external duality and realize that the inner essence ofeverything is one. Gratitude is not liking the deer and disliking thelion. Real " Thanksgiving " is to understand the calm nature of the deerand the fierce nature of the lion, and at the same time, recognize andaccept the Divine Power, which gives consciousness to both theseanimals.
