Guest guest
dear marci ~ I too have been distressed about the suffering of the people in India. The fact that the attack was well planned, to strike at high priority points of interest, including the targeting of Americans and Britons, is frightening. I worry as much about any Indians who may have been caught in the crossfire or who have suffered in other ways because of this attack. I really liked reading the passage you quoted. It reminded me of a bumper sticker that some of who worked at Peace Links had: What if They Gave a War and Nobody Came? We also talked a lot about " waging peace, " and what that meant to ius individually and also to groups and nations. And of course, Ghandi and Martin Luther King and others have shown by example how to " wage peace. " And I remember an old folk song that said we should " study war no more. " I believe that Amma taps the nail on the head when She says we have to rid ourselves of " my " and " mine " before true peace will really come. Today, I had to suddenly leave when David and I went out ... had to get home quickly due to my symptoms. I felt very distressed, embarrassed, and almost in a state of shock. How could this be happening to my. Me ... there you go. I could have still come home and turned all the distress about the situation over to Amma, but I didn't. Reading what you posted is giving me some thinking about how to have peace within myself, regardless of what my body is or isn't doing. Thank you for the springboard.
