Guest guest
Non Duality as The Goal Advaita( non-duality; not two ) is the eventual goal whatever our path is; this is what Amma means by " Awaken Children. " While Amma does talk about the goal of non-duality some of the time, most of Amma's talks are about Love, Devotion and Selfless Service which Amma recommends either as THE PATH or as complimentary to whatever our path of choice might be( mantra japa, nama japa, meditation, self-inquiry, abidance in Self, witnessing, shakti, worship, various types of yoga, karma yoga, etc ). I believe Amma is an Incarnation( someone who Awakened in previous life time and made a sankalpa to return to help others ) and obviously She has millions of devotees. So, Amma's outreach has to be very broad. Some have said that this is why Amma's message( in words ) is diluted; but, I do not see it as diluted because it seems the message of non-duality is in everything Amma says except it may not be worded specifically as such. In ancient times, some teachers would not talk at all, but would teach non-duality in the powerful Silence of Presence. This is because the nature of language is duality, regardless who speaks it. Swami said Amma has taken the risk of speaking( carefully ) out of compassion to talk to us. Amma's message of non-duality is most specific( in words ) in Vol 7 of " Awaken Children. " But, many devotees realize that Amma's main teaching is via Silence and example. I also believe that there are others, not Incarnations like Amma, but those who are awakening to their true nature as non-duality in this life time. Some of these become " advaita " teachers and they do speak mostly specifically about their experience of non-duality. Here is a link to one of these advaita teachers who speaks very clearly about his awakening : (shared in the spirit that Amma has many helpers) http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Jeff+Foster+-+Life+Without+A+Centre+\ & search_type= & aq=f there are 6 short videos, each about 7 to 9 mins first he says what non-duality is then he talks about his rather difficult path/life before awakening then the Life after awakening; the interviewer asks very good questions this is one of the best presentations on non-duality that I have heard and one of the youngest to awaken in mid twenties There is a saying, and Amma has also reminded us of it, that if we want to awaken as badly as a drowning man wants a breath of air, then it will happen. Perhaps, Jeff's difficult challenges in life were the circumstances that come close to this saying. enjoy ! being in Amma's Presence is an opportunity to awaken.
