Guest guest
Amma ~ " The past is like a canceled check. " my 2cents: Obama seems to be in line with this teaching of Amma saying he wants to go forward and change things for the better; he does not want to investigate and prosecute those who may have violated laws and made a mess of things, as some constitutional scholars are advising him to do. This is also in line with Gandhi's acknowledgment that being aware of his own weaknesses, helped him to be more tolerant of mischief makers, forgiving them and giving them a chance to go forward and even helping Gandhi. This may also be in line with scripture, " leave vengeance unto the Lord. " Also, sort of like Lincoln, Obama is reaching out to his opponents to work with him. Obama met with McCain and asked him to help with things that they both agree on like curbing corruption in government, no-torture, global warming, etc. I find it interesting and inspirational whenever world leaders align themselves with spiritual principles of non-violence, forgiveness, and taking positive steps to go forward. It is interesting that past Presidents Clinton and Carter are both doing considerable charity work around the world. But, my feeling is that perhaps an opportunity for greatest charity will come soon by creating a U.S. Department of Peace and Non-Violence. And just imagine if other nations do likewise. Perhaps, this should be added to the prayer list: " U.S. Department of Peace and Domestic Non-Violence " thanks for listening Amma Bless, amarnath
