Guest guest
Dear Amarnath ~ oh, keep them coming; each one is a precious jewel, and then on the YouTube page, there are even more jewels. I love the technology that can bring all of us closer, just by " plugging (turning) in. " Also what you quoted from Awaken Children seemed especially pertinent for me today as I have been having trouble with my hubby. Getting back together after a 29 year separation has had its joys and challenges. I'm sure my own ego gets in the way, and I'm the only one I can speak for. But this digest has brought tears of healing and joy, and remembrance of where the true Source is. I would like to share with the group, so I hope you will bear with me. This is a story of my sister, who was the one responsible for me meeting Amma. Then she went on to follow Shree Maa and Swamiji Satyananda Saraswati. Although always being ever a gemini, she flits back and forth from one flower to another. She still sees Amma every year, more than once if she can. Anyhow ... the story ... she was with Shree Maa, walking along, complaining about her husband. Shree Maa looked at her, very pointedly, and said, as if an order, " You, worship him. " My sister was astonished. She immediately put a picture of her husband along with the others on her altar, and has included him, in absentia because he is a non-believer, in her sadhana. I have been thinking maybe this would maybe be a good idea with my difficulties with my own hubby. Anyway, Amarnath, you are right: " ego must go. " Thank you ~ Linda Amarnath wrote: " Only when we become aware of the burden of our own ego will we be able to remove our faults. At present, we cannot bear someone else's ego or mistakes, but ours is all right. `My ego is beautiful, but his is ugly.' This is our present attitude, and this attitude should go. " - Ammachi, Awaken Children, Vol.4 p264 (0246) " Children, try to be humble. We are here to see God in others, not the evil or ignorance in them. That is what our practice should be. - Ammachi, Awaken Children, Vol.4 p264 (0247) **************Get the Moviefone Toolbar. I consider them as pointers to truth to which Amma wants us to awaken to. And, these quotes of Amma are being posted in sequential order, not my response to anyone. Different devotees may resonate with these pointers at different times, etc. Whatever I offer as my own 2cent comments, please accept as relative and not absolute. The enlightened Socrates said something like: " The only thing I know for sure is that I do not know. " Still, it's fun to express ourselves, etc, as long as we look at everything as possible pointers to the truth and not truth itself. Absolute Truth, some say, is inexpressible, unknowable, without form, on the one hand; but, on the other hand IT IS " our own true nature " to which Amma wants us to awaken to.
