if this child were to say , " this is so beautiful after years of struggle, we

now have a African American(black)President 'there would be those that step up

and say " it is not about him being black. " they may say " what difference does it

make. " they my even say " one of Obama's parents is white " .

at the same time,if i were to say, " that red rose is so pretty, " no one would

have anything to say and we would all move into the space of our hearts.

if i said, " Oh i love how that PURPLE shirt looks on you " ,once again no one would

have anything to say.

AMMA says that ,we all are reflections of the DIVINE,yet for years the African

image was equated with men and women swinging on trees.in fact in the 60's it

was taught by the Christian church that black people's skin was a curse, given to

Noah's sun ham which means black.

as a child ,i was told by my father and others as well as shown movies in

which african americans were portrayed as stupid and always in the " yes sir

boss " image.most of the movie characters in the 90's and 2000's of african

images were portryaed as thugs, criminals, drug dealers, pimps, hustlers etc.

Egypt is one of the greatest civilizations ever to exist and some say the

greatest.all the characters of ancient Egypt are always depicted as looking

other then african, yet Egypt is in Africa and if you look at the paintings of

the Ancient Pharoahs, exspecially Ankhten aton, with his thick black beautiful

lips,it is obvious that they were people of dark beautiful skin.dont get upset,

we are all beauiful.

when we say that Kali is the BLACK GODDESS!no one has anything to say.well

beloved ,ISIS was also the BLACK GODDESS!and i am sorry if this hurts anyone's

feelings ,but in the SPIRIT OF NOT PEOPLE PEASING ,so was MARY!the Catholic

Church has the BLACK MADDONA hidden in the Vatican ,but you can go on line and

see it.and by the way,the word Egypt comes from the greek word,EGYPTOS and it

means those with burnt faces.this is what the greeks called the people when they

went and studied there.the ANCIENT word for egypt is actually KHEMIT and that

word, means BLACK.i know some people will not like this, but science has said for

many years now that the oldest human remains are in africa.we all came from

DARKNESS.this can be spiritual,or SPIRIT and how it manifest through

MALININ.malinin is what gives us all pigmentation(color).maybe with Obama in

office i can point this out as something to increase awareness and expand

conscioussness instead of being labeled something that i am not.

sadly so,some are not evolved enough to see that these statements have

nothing to do with race nor color.Ancient cultures did not have a doctrine of

racism.that is something that was inititated by the British.if you dont believe

me just researh APARTIED,in its origin in S.AFRICA.

IF you dont believe me,just research Ghandi and why his mission first began.now

back to blackness as it reveals itself as one of GODS FORMS.in our beloved

country of India, even to this day,250,000,000 UNTOUCHABLES (also known as the

Dalits, opressed people) are still being oppressed because they have DARK BLACK

SKIN.in ancient times in India DARK SKIN was revered.this has been told to me by

people from India who know their history prior to the caste sytem being

established.

PLEASE BE SO KIND TO RESEARCH OUR BELOVED GURU'S BIOGRAPHY.IT MENTIONS A FEW

TIMES THAT AMMA WAS PERSUCUTED HERSELF BY HER OWN FAMILY FOR HAVING DARK BLACK

SKIN AS A CHILD.if you think that AMMA is not aware of the beauty and the effect

of Obama being a BLACK president has on the conscioussness of the world, you are

fooling yourself.nothing in this world happens bhy mistake.for you all AMMA

beingt the BLACK GODDESS my have some spiritual meaning, but for those that have

been oppressed because of their skin, this helps them to see themselves as being

in the IMAGE of GOD.

do you know how liberating that must have been for those 250,000,000

untouchables in India to see an african america man become the president of the

united states?as i said earlier, some will be upset because of this oh so obvious

truth.BUT IN THE SPIRIT OF NOT PEOPLE PLEASING,i have decided to speak.

a heart of compassion will CELEBRATE THIS LIKE ANYTHING ELSE THAT HAS BEEN.

they pointing out on T.V that an african american mother said that finally

now,she can tell her children that they can be anything they want to be.

the deep thing is that my points have nothing to do with color.what i am saying

simply is that for years the dark skin image has been portrayed as something

bad.just look up the word black in any dictionary.every word associated with it

is negative!now finally, the entire world can see Obama and his beloved wife and

children and have the image of darker skin be seen as JUST AS BEAUTIFUL,JUST AS

GOD-LIKE,JUST AS LOVE-LIKE as any other.

IN THE NAME OF NOT PEOPLE PLEASING I AM CELEBRATING THIS OH SO AUSPICIOUS

VICTORY!AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AM\

MA IS THE MOTHER OF COMPASSION FOR SOME AND FOR OTHERS THE BLACK

-0500 Re: To Keval, temba and marci ... my gratitude

Dear Keval ~ thank you for stepping forward. I felt very uncomfortable about

what I had written yesterday, even though I meant it only for myself. I had been

part of the celebration ... one reason for my discomfort about people who were

opposed to the discussion is that, due to my growing up in an abusive and

alcoholic family, my tendency is to " people please. " I'm not sure that if that

is why I said I would no longer participate in the discussion. I do truly feel

that because of the upset that I perceived was beginning to show, about the

topic of Obama, I felt a need to step back. Thank you very much for your

reasoned and well stated point of view. I do feel what others have said, that

the fact that a man like Obama could win the Presidency of the US, is very

significance, and I believe with others that, though not spoken openly by him,

his approach showed him to be a man of deep faith and convictions. What Temba

and marci have shared brought tears to my eyes, and I cannot help but believe

that any discussion that prompts " peeling " as marci said (I am familiar with the

layers of the onion too) is more than worthwhile ... it is a treasure. People

are reaching deep within to feel and communicate what the election of Obama

means, and I do believe that this is, in great part, a spiritual discussion. This

group is a treasure, and we each contain a sparkling jewel within, that spark of

the Divine that Amma wants so much for us to connect with. She will do almost

anything. I had heard the story of the miracle where She turned water into

pudding. I didn't know there was a video of it. This video is itself a treasure.

I think it was one of the links that Amarnath sent me, so thank you again

Amarnath. (The link is below.) The " story " opens showing a lot of devotees

drawing around Amma (a very young woman at that time). There is a man whose main

desire seems to be to create trouble. He begins to taunt Amma that if She is

Whom Her devotees believe, than She should show it; She should perform a

miracle. She gently tries to steer attention away from this man and says several

times that this is not the way. Yet, She ultimately recognizes that his

disturbing presence is going to get in the way of any hopes or intentions on the

part of the people who have come to see Her. So She casually takes a bowl of

water and begins stirring, and it turns into pudding. The bowl begins to be

passed all around with people sticking their fingers in, wanting to have that

precious gift. The man, of course, gives up trying to disrupt the gathering.

Here is the link. Please watch and

hear._http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5od7Kk0OmNA & feature=related_

(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5od7Kk0OmNA & feature=related) I have a feeling

that the discussion is not over ... or that it may dwindle and then rev up again

once Obama takes office and begins to take action. So I will not retract what I

said about not participating, but will read and listen to my heart and act

accordingly. Jai Jai Mata Ma ~ LindaKeval wrote:Most of this discussion is at

least marginally related to Amma, and I am not aware of any negative attacks on

list members or against Republicans in general. So I haven't put the kibosh on

this thread. I am not exactly impartial on the US election just because I live

in Canada.. I have dual citizenship and voted for the Obama/Biden ticket by

absentee ballot.Just an unscientific observation on my part, but it seems like

the majority (or at least plurality) of Amma devotees, and western devotees of

eastern spirituality in general, are liberals or leftists who vote Democrats (or

NDP in Canada), with a good number of Greenies as well. I only know of one

devotee who is a Republican, who basically held her nose and voted McCain, not

being too thrilled with the choice. At the very least Obama's victory could mean

that Americans traveling abroad won't have to pretend they're from Canada

dear Temba. . .i hear your comments about not holding back your voice for

the need to please. . . .and also deeply hear what you have said about Dark

skin. . . Thank you for the time and considerable thought and feeling that

you have expressed in the post you shared with us. . .

Temba you have made many true and poignant points in your post. . .I can

tell you reached down to your beautiful soul and hear a voice from long ago

as well as here and now. . .

First i would like to reveal i am so very sorry for the grave and blantant

wrongs that my light skinned peoples have committed against your people of

dark skin. . .And for my own slow process of peeling back the subtle and not

so subtle layers of racial prejudice. . .

for over 150 years in American history we have had a proclamation of

equality. . .but it has taken us so very long to see the first budding of

the leaves on the tree. . . Perhaps i can use this analogy. . .many

beautiful ones came and supplied the trunk and the branches and many watered

the tree with their blood. . . From the exprience of many dark skinned

peoples it was like a long long winter. . .between the 1860's and now. . .

it is my hope with the budding of Obama as the first African American

president. . . may all the leaves come forth. . . may every dark skinned

person that has been held back by the ignorance of racial prejudice fill the

branches and dance in the light. . .and like the Book of Revelation. . .may

the leaves be for the healing of the Nations. . . .

I think often in the histories of oppressed peoples it can take many years

before ones feel safe enough to express their voices and their feelings. .

..Maybe part of the healing of the injustice of race is for your generation

to speak from the feelings, heart, and soul, from the experience of

prejudice. . .We (U.S.A) have had a little over fifty years of factoids,

but healing must also allow the feelings so it can claim deeper healing. .

..For awhile now we have grappled with injustice from the level of history

and the factoids and maybe now deeper levels that need to heal can be

revealed and released in true healing. . . .for all. . .

Temba i welcome your thoughts, feelings and voice. . .i see both your heart

and courage to express that which your ancestors where killed for saying. .

..Your voice is important for it is anchored in Amma's heart. . .and that is

the kind of healing that is needed by so many. . .

Your are our brother, Amma's son. Though our histories would tell us we

come from the oppressed and the oppressors. . . .and i truth most of us

have both within us. . . We surley have to give thanks for every last one

of them for they are the ones that brought us into our lives at this time

and place. . .As you well stated we all began from one beautiful dark Mother

in the Dark continent of Africa. . .And i believe that most of the ones in

this group would agree. . .to Her we are All returning. . .As we follow Amma

as Guru, Teacher, Mother and Goddess i believe that makes us blood relatives

spiritually. . . .May this be the Truth that shall always be. . . And i pray

with sincere heart the Circle of Amma continues to expand with the arms of

each and everyone around this world She embraces. . . .

I will close with this sincere request for forgiveness from me personally. .

..for all the wrongs, misdeeds, tortures, death and injustices of so many of

your ancestors by my ancestors. . .What happened can sometimes get covered

up with words like history. . .but they where beautiful, strong, courageous

people that where oppressed by the lack of soul that revealed evil from my

peoples. . .

May prayers sweep this world so all peoples of color, class, disability,

and gender be released from the ignorance of oppression. . .

I like what Amma said about the flower as long as one petal is diseased all

wil be affected. . .For the truth is; As long as even one group, color, or

class of people remain oppressed, wound and untended, so am i, and so are

you, and so are all of us. . .

Please allow yourself to use this fourm to express what ever you need to

express. . .that which could not be expressed by so many for too long. .

..whether it be joy, happiness, sadness, anger or hope we are within the

embrace of Amma's Circle. . .may you know i care and can listen to your

voice. . .

PS. Temba you needed to add Jesus to the list. . .he also is one that

incarnated in the dark skin. . .the blue eyed. . .wavy light brown haired

Jesus is not an accurate representation of Jesus. . .The anglo saxons

wanted the image (Jesus) God after their own image. . . strange how all egos

dear beloved sister.thankyou for your willingness to see.not only to see ,but

also to look deeper.one day we will be able to see all forms as HER FORM.until

then compassionate hearts such as yourself must be willing to speak.

it is a GIFT to see LIFE from the eyes of another.not just a gift ,but a

spiritual one.AMMA told me years ago within my heart that this would happen and

the i had to be here.it is another gift when you know who you are and what you

were born to do.

AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,\

AMMA,AMMA,AMMA............

some may say that AMMAs sun is crazy and maybe i am ,but before i leave this

body,i want to surpass even the devotion of arjuna to KRISHNA and also the

gopis.i want to even surpass HANUMAN's devotion for RAM.yes i have lost my

mind.AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA..........\

Namastedear Temba. . .i hear your comments about not holding back your voice

forthe need to please. . . .and also deeply hear what you have said about

Darkskin. . . Thank you for the time and considerable thought and feeling

thatyou have expressed in the post you shared with us. . .Temba you have made

many true and poignant points in your post. . .I cantell you reached down to

your beautiful soul and hear a voice from long agoas well as here and now. .

..First i would like to reveal i am so very sorry for the grave and

blantantwrongs that my light skinned peoples have committed against your people

ofdark skin. . .And for my own slow process of peeling back the subtle and notso

subtle layers of racial prejudice. . .for over 150 years in American history we

have had a proclamation ofequality. . .but it has taken us so very long to see

the first budding ofthe leaves on the tree. . . Perhaps i can use this analogy.

.. .manybeautiful ones came and supplied the trunk and the branches and many

wateredthe tree with their blood. . . From the exprience of many dark

skinnedpeoples it was like a long long winter. . .between the 1860's and now. .

..it is my hope with the budding of Obama as the first African Americanpresident.

.. . may all the leaves come forth. . . may every dark skinnedperson that has

been held back by the ignorance of racial prejudice fill thebranches and dance

in the light. . .and like the Book of Revelation. . .maythe leaves be for the

healing of the Nations. . . .I think often in the histories of oppressed peoples

it can take many yearsbefore ones feel safe enough to express their voices and

their feelings. ..Maybe part of the healing of the injustice of race is for your

generationto speak from the feelings, heart, and soul, from the experience

ofprejudice. . .We (U.S.A) have had a little over fifty years of factoids, but

healing must also allow the feelings so it can claim deeper healing. ..For

awhile now we have grappled with injustice from the level of historyand the

factoids and maybe now deeper levels that need to heal can berevealed and

released in true healing. . . .for all. . .Temba i welcome your thoughts,

feelings and voice. . .i see both your heartand courage to express that which

your ancestors where killed for saying. ..Your voice is important for it is

anchored in Amma's heart. . .and that isthe kind of healing that is needed by so

many. . .Your are our brother, Amma's son. Though our histories would tell us

wecome from the oppressed and the oppressors. . . .and i truth most of ushave

both within us. . . We surley have to give thanks for every last oneof them for

they are the ones that brought us into our lives at this timeand place. . .As

you well stated we all began from one beautiful dark Motherin the Dark continent

of Africa. . .And i believe that most of the ones inthis group would agree. .

..to Her we are All returning. . .As we follow Ammaas Guru, Teacher, Mother and

Goddess i believe that makes us blood relativesspiritually. . . .May this be the

Truth that shall always be. . . And i praywith sincere heart the Circle of Amma

continues to expand with the arms ofeach and everyone around this world She

embraces. . . .I will close with this sincere request for forgiveness from me

personally. ..for all the wrongs, misdeeds, tortures, death and injustices of so

many ofyour ancestors by my ancestors. . .What happened can sometimes get

coveredup with words like history. . .but they where beautiful, strong,

courageouspeople that where oppressed by the lack of soul that revealed evil

from mypeoples. . .May prayers sweep this world so all peoples of color, class,

disability, and gender be released from the ignorance of oppression. . .I like

what Amma said about the flower as long as one petal is diseased allwil be

affected. . .For the truth is; As long as even one group, color, orclass of

people remain oppressed, wound and untended, so am i, and so areyou, and so are

all of us. . .Please allow yourself to use this fourm to express what ever you

need toexpress. . .that which could not be expressed by so many for too long.

...whether it be joy, happiness, sadness, anger or hope we are within theembrace

of Amma's Circle. . .may you know i care and can listen to yourvoice. . .Aum
