Guest guest
dear mm (marci?) ~ this is one of the most powerful statements I have read in a long time. I don't know if you're familiar with the Tarot cards, but #9 in the Major Arcana is generally called " The Hermit. " However I go by the symbolic imagery rather than what conflicting sources say. The image is a man (or in the version I made, a woman) walking a solitary path and holding up a lantern from which a bright light shines. To me the quote below is a great description for what I feel/sense when I see that image. I have interpreted it to mean: one who has gone inside and connected to the Source Light, now not only lights his/her way, but shines a light for others. This is one, very important, form of selfless service. The light of the soul throws sparks, can send up flares, builds signal fires ... causes proper matters to catch fire. To display the lantern of soul in shadowy times like these -- to be fierce and to show mercy toward others -- both are acts of immense bravery and greatest necessity. Struggling souls catch light from other souls who are fully lit and willing to show it. If you would help to calm the tumult, this is one of the strongest things you can do.
