Guest guest
dear Imsanders ~ not sure about you, but I too am resistent to doing spiritual practices, which I realize only affects me. I am like a small child ~ yes, I would rather have the candy, play with the dog, etc., than do spiritual practices. This morning I was reminded to hold that part of me in compassion, and so I know what I must do ... take her gently by the hand and lead her to the altar. At the very least, I know she loves the candles and incense, so I can let her light them. By the way, can anyone tell me what the IAM is. Can one only learn it from Mother or one of her Swamis/Swaminis? The last time I saw Ammachi we were being taught the Ma Om meditation. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to practice what I was told this morning (the person was my therapist, who is very spiritually minded, was the one who told me). Iamsanders wrote: Although I do my IAM and chant the Names every day, it is still an enormous struggle to get myself to do them. Not only do I not look forward to doing them, but I can think of at least 108 other things I would rather be doing! Every time I complete my practices, I do feel much better than I did before starting but still that is not enough to motivate me to do them. And then I wonder why bother doing them at all. **************Play online games for FREE at Games.com! All of your favorites, no registration required and great graphics – check it out! Guest guest
Thank you for the suggestion. I will try that and once I get going I seem to be OK. It is good to see you back in the group posting and someone gave a nice answer to your question about IAM. It really is an awesome technique!
