Dear marci ~ you have the patience of a saint...to type all of this down to

share. Thank you very much for doing it. Now there is something I will share

with you, since you asked me to share a bit more about Durga. I will put it

in another email because it is quite long ... maybe I'll do half and half or

something, but it relates to what you said about images for Amma. Aum

Dnyaneshwari was created by Dnayneshwari, the great poet saint of

Maharashtra, who was born at Alandi near Pune in 1217 AD. He took Sanjivan

Samadhi when

he was barely 22 years old. About 700 years ago. The Pasaydan rendered in

English is as follows:

" May the wicked shed their evil ways and get inclined towards good deeds and

may all beings develop friendship for one another.

" May the darkness in the form of sin in the world be dispelled. Let there be

the dawn of svadharma in this world.

" May these saints who are like walking kalpatarus (wish-fulfilling trees)

and

abodes of chintamanis and talking oceans of amrita (nectar), and who are

like spotless moons and scorchless suns be the constant companions of all. "
