Guest guest Posted October 13, 2008 Report Share Posted October 13, 2008 Amma tells us that we are not the body, mind, senses, thoughts, feelings, experiences, etc Amma tells us that we are the Supreme-Self-Awareness-Love All this is we can read in Amma's words in Her many books: 9 vols of " Awaken Children " etc, etc Also, Amma says that it is this identification with body that is the cause of all our problems; and Amma suggests that instead of believing we are the body, we start believing that we are not the body and see what happens. The same teachings, the essence of spirituality, is also expressed by other teachers in slightly different words, expressions, language. Here is one such example : " Is it really possible to realise the Self? " ~ Mooji hope this helps someone to contemplate Amma's Words more deeply. I now see this is not at all true, and that I cannot be affected by anything, by any modification whatsoever that may befall my impermanent identification and existence as such. Therefore, I am now going to freely indulge all those desires I have been suppressing during my important search for God-realization these many many years. I know now finally that I am not the body at all and that all of this creation is nothing more than a mere appearance and quite frankly a big fucking joke on us! Here's to Her! To truly know oneSELF as not the body, the mind must disappear and Awareness appear; then the mind will not come to erroneous conclusions as it did below. Amma also says that you are not the mind; all this is explained in detail in " Awaken Children " Vol 7 Be sure to read Swamiji's preface where he explains that these truths cannot be grasped by the mind/thoughts but can be cognized by the Heart of Awareness.
