Guest guest
Dear visvanathan and all~ well stated. I can't say for sure that it was the dissension in the group that caused me to leave, although I'm sure it played a part. Mostly, it was due to being very ill, and having low boundaries, and despite my own intentions, I could not keep the negativity out. I am still very sick, but I am stronger now. I believe if we simply do not engage in responding to negativity, but just ignore it, it will begin to dissipate. (But be ready, if this is employed for the dissension to initially become even more inflammatory.) The more we respond, the more credence we give to it. I returned because I love many of the people here, missed them, and missed the connection with Amma. When I was in Silver City, NM, I began a year-long effort to start a satsang. The group only wanted to watch Amma videos ... not even discuss them, and they definitely didn't want to sing bhajans or discuss any of what Temba has called the PRINCIPLES. I became too sick to attend, and the group dwindled back to nothing. It is my belief that we can steer this boat on the " Ocean of Love " (Amma Bhajan) back into the light and represent, without sacrificing good discussion and even sometimes disagreement, the PRINCIPLES that Temba speaks of. When I first read about the PRINCIPLES in Temba's post, I understood immediately, and what I related it to was employing the WITNESS. In the Witness state, there are no judgements, no merry-go-'round of positive/negative polarity; there is simply WHAT IS. This is one of the principles that Amma has taught very directly, and when I am able to do it, I don't get pulled into the molasses of sadness, fear, too much, too little, or any negativity. She has provided us with very good fishing poles. Jai Ma ~ Linda visvanathan wrote:: but as time passed we seemed to attract more and more of those who loved to make trouble, and to attempt to sow dissension among the devotees, even trying to draw them into EX Amma groups with their provocative (and libelous) questions...attempting instead of praising Amma, to denigrate Her and drag Her image through the mud of their own sewerage. and as a result a lot of the good devotees, the inspiring ones departed the list in despair and disgust, unwilling to take part in such a charged atmosphere. **************New MapQuest Local shows what's happening at your destination.
