Guest guest
There IS something wrong with being an addict, just like Depression (and Mania), because they're much different than Cancer or other physical illnesses. I know from personal experience, that while what you say about " addicts " may be true for SOME, it's also true a person just needs to change the way they live their life (processing things, etc.). There's only so much therapy and psych meds can do for anyone. If the inner will is not strengthened, the person will never get better, ever. 'Addicts' and those with similar conditions, like Manic Depression, keep playing the victim and " doing whatever they FEEL like doing " . They need to stop blaming the disease and start blaming their boss (ie, themselves). Sounds rough, but it's the only way they'll get better. And it's dangerous working with someone who's a bonafide addict (of any kind) or has clinical depression, because they can literally drain the life-force out of you. Very much the way a drowning person will push you under to keep their own head above water. Only properly trained people should attempt to assist unhealthy people. As I've said on here before, I know people personally, that will suffer from depression, mania, and drugs/alcohol for the rest of their natural lives, BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO CHANGE. People want happiness, but they want personal freedom more. " A " 's request was legit because it was not important to discussing Amma, and keeping them up was clearly retribution for her earlier comments. Guest guest
dear beloved tom, blame is much different then ACCEPTANCE.when we accept what is,what follows is peace of mind.only someone who has experienced this would know this.a disease has done nothing to know one. even the bacteria that causes the body to become sick is only doing what is is destoned to do.all life deserves to live. cocaine has done nothing to anyone beloved.whatever sick mind decided to make it into something that kills people is the universal cause of all disease and that starts within you.before you react ,please catch the ESSENCE of what is being shared here. and beloved tom,you are aware enough and a deep enough soul to know that disease first starts for anyone in the mind!disease is a universal thing.and it is all a matter of each persons perception. if you think its wrong " so what " that is one opinion out of 6 BILLION!the real disease is hatred, greed, selfishness, fear, etc.Swami rama first said that EGO is a human disease and that is something that we all have ,so therefore , " WE " all have a disease.all it takes is to be REAL with yourself.are you not willing to see the ONENESS of everything.it is beautiful to share all of your philosophys, however now it is time to go deeper.if you cannot see that drug addiction and cancer are in the core the same thing ,AMMAs sun invites you to go within and search. all the self help books on the market say that all disease starts in the mind, but when temba says it ,because of your lack of compassion to see us all as the same ,you in your innocence make your tainted remarks.that is okay, your perspective is needed,in order for a deeper contemplation to take place.thankyou so much.tom is love. thank GOD for the MAHATMAS who teach us to always searh for the universal truth that we all have in common.LOVE IS THE ANSWER,LOVE IS THE WAY,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,AMMA,,AMMA,SEES ALL AS HER BELOVED CHILDREN ,and this is the level that this child longs to be on.he is not there by any means, but he is in love with the possibility.i love you tom,we have come a long way.once again like two IGNORANT siblings ,both thinking we know something, when in true we are all oh so IGNORANT. Guest guest
Oh, hello everyone I am so sorry but I have to address this claim to " knowledge " that is absurd and destructive. This is so ridiculous really in the year 2008 to make such a broad AND INCREDIBLY uninformed swipe at what is a true illness. This is 1930s thinking which is why we still have issues in courts with schizophrenics and those with clinical depression. " Just get over it " , build your inner self, etc is so absurd-is this Tom Cruise?!..Do you really think those who are depressed WANT to be depressed?! Clinical depression requires medication. Some suffer their whole lives no matter what medicine they have or what they try to do. Some people have permanent problems with seratonin which medicine does not FIX. The point IS that people who think like this absurd statement made here-truly have no real understanding of these disorders. It's easy to be an outsider and think you really " get it " but ridiculous statements like this make it quite clear that you really do not get it. You are not alone. So many really do NOT get it. You would think in 2008 we would be SO Much further along. Amma teaches compassion. Do you think all the elderly who suffer from depression in their old age need to just suck it up? Those with personality disorder or schizophrenia should just get over it? It's downright uninformed. You should check out the http://www.nami.org/ and learn the truthon mental illness before making short sighted claims of knowledge. It sounds " rough " ? No it is simply complete ignorance of the medical facts.
