Guest guest
I heard this story first-hand back when it happened, and having worked snow storms plowing streets, the event was not a miracle by any means. Sometimes it can seem so when you fret about the little things. I recall they were going to shovel the driveway and part of the street to get out, when Dayamrita said not to worry about it. I think it was 1998. After a few minutes, a plow truck came down the street. The house wasn't in the cul-de-sac itself, but on a street that had one, but I think the road had a decent grade to it, so the concern was warranted. Normally, during the first 24 hours, only major streets are plowed. But in heavier storms, they'll bring in contractors to get to the side streets plowed before it gets too high. I recall that the plow truck came in the morning of their departure to the airport and I think it was only 8 " of snow at most. Dayamrita once went to Washington DC for a programme. A large snow storm had dumped maybe a foot of snow on the ground in the area where Dayamrita was staying. It was late at night and he needed to leave for the airport early the next morning. The devotees who were hosting Dayamrita wanted to go outside and shovel. Their home was in a cul-de-sac and they said that the town snow plow never plows their street. How would they get out? Despite their pleas to go outside, Dayamrita told them not to worry. All would be ok. The next morning, lo-and-behold, the street had been plowed overnight and they were able to get to the airport on time… > > Jai Ma!
