I was going to leave this to only the

free speech zone, but since you're

picking on a sister like you've picked

on me, here goes:

 

The following is typical in the

Amma org when Amma gives a directive.

It's a case study in the freak-out

among devotees that creates a

whirlwind of misinformation,

gossip and confusion. Link to

actual public discussion given below.

 

1. Dayamrita forwards a request

from Amma, that *at SATSANGS*, you

should no longer use any open flame.

 

2. Gossip, I mean *clarification*

now says that you shouldn't use

anything burning for SADHANA, not

even incense or camphor. " At this time "

implies astrological influences. But

ok to use fire to cook.

 

3. Re-clarification from Amma's

pujari in INDIA, re-affirms original

directive, of no-open flames in

satsang/group meetings.

 

4. More clarification, that the

directive *possibly* (my word and

emphasis) refers to Amma's vision

WHILE AT SAN RAMON of a fire.

California and fire (wild fires),

what else is new? But that posting

leaves open the idea that it's

astrological, since it still

recommends against any flame,

coming from a Calif staff member.

 

Please, anyone using candles or

even incense should always keep a

fire extinguisher handy as part of

their sadhana stuff anyways. That

and a spray bottle of rug cleaner if

you're using oil lamps.

 

But did they have to go through all that,

going from something directed at satsangs

(general safety measure) to being

all-encompassing, back to satsangs, then

back to generalism again (at least for

Californians)?

 

This kind of bs-telephone game happens offline

too, newbies, so be fore-warned.

 

And Chris's comment about drug use just proves

the lack of evolution some devotees exhibit.

I'm guessing BBS (bad birthstar), as Chris's

behavior of diarrhea-of-the-mouth is typical

among such people.

With all that I've read online, who can blame Ananthasree for hiding

her identity? Her posts were not hateful at all, merely questioning

the truth...as everyone should be. Follow, but don't do it blindly!
