Oh, I don't know that this tone was necessary, was it? We need to

lighten up a little perhaps. Whenever I think about these kinds or

things-what would Amma say or how would SHE respond?

Ok, I know I'm no saint, but one shining example of receiving Amma's

grace was very evident to me-actually I have had many but I will

share one that made a big difference for me. This might be a repeat

story for some so I hope not to bore anyone.I was very torn over my

work. I was not making enough money and have been self employed for

19 yrs. A few years back I took a second job-working near minimum

wages at various places and finally landed a job working in special

needs at a highschool.

Despite my efforts, I just could not get my business on footing that

it had before. I had lost almost 60% of my income and was continuing

to struggle. At a retreat, I approached the question line asking what

should I do about work (and spiritual practices) When Big Swami asked

Amma for me, She said, " Continue doing what you are doing but search

for another job and I will send you my grace. " I asked Big Swami so

what am I supposed to continue-both jobs my home business-he said It

did not matter, just keep doing whatever it is and look for work. She

also told me to just continue what I had been doing on my spiritual

practices-which was IAM 2ce a day-so I don't do a lot of extra things

here but I guess this is enough for me now.

I searched and applied for many jobs within the school district. I

would test, score exceptionally high on the test. There would be

sometimes no other candidate applying, then at the last minute,

someone would show up to apply and they got the job! This happened

for every position I applied for.

During all of this I had posted my resume online. One day I received

an email out of the blue. You know how this emails seem suspicious

sometimes-offering jobs, etc. But this one, as soon as I received it

I thought, OH THIS IS THE JOB FROM AMMA! And sure enough, I applied

at the company as the recruiter suggested. My testing, interview and

hiring was incredibly seamless with making 3x what I had been making,

incredible benefits and more. Plus they connected some previous

service with a prior company so after six months, I had 13 years of

service and a lot of vacation time.

So that is my " grace " story about Amma.

My other thought is, isn't it our job to uplift humanity with

charitible works? I remember-having been raised Catholic-that this is

a lot of what it's all about. Whether we are caring for our aging

parents, or donating money and time to the poor-I mean how much do WE

really need to live on? I know that Christ taught this often. If

someone asks for your cloak, give him your shoes as well. (my quote

may be off here). " If you do this for the least of my bretheren, you

do it for Me. " So not sure what charitable giving is a disappointment

for Tom-hopefully we are all involved on some level for this. But we

are all entitled to how we feel about things and what we believe.

None of us should ever really criticize anyone over that. We are who

we are and we are where we are-we breath if only through God's Amma's

infinite Grace. THAT itself is grace alone.

in Her service,

Adriane

So Grace isn't exclusively found on the internet, is it?

That's sort of what I was getting at with the last post here.
