Guest guest
Om Amriteshwaryai namah! Dear Children of Amma, I deeply appreciate the love and generosity of each one of you. I've been working with COL-Inside for almost 4 years now. It grew from two letter writers and a handful of inmates in Illinois to 137 letter writers and 290 inmates in more than a dozen US states. The MA Center has donated hundreds of books to inmates but the Board has not yet officially approved the seva program so that it could receive donations, have those donations tracked, use the amma.org website so that people could donate, etc. I personally have spent $4000 of my own money over the years to ship books and for other expenses. This last year, I've had a hard time keeping up due to my practitioner studies. My employment has been unstable for several years now, and then there was the health adventure. Blessedly I did not have cancer. I could not stop just because it was hard. In the last month, however, there has been a shift. Amma always has let me know when it's time for a change. I see that I am supposed to work more directly with people in prison and in the community -- in person, not via email. When these changes happen, Amma never leaves a vacuum. As far as COL-Inside is concerned, I will give away my duties. Through this seva, lives have changed. Hearts have opened on both sides of the prison wall. Sweda Kurtz of Minneapolis/St. Paul is learning how to bring in new letter writers and keep Sherry Chuang up to date about who is writing to whom. Eric Jensen of Chicago will continue follow interested volunteers until they get a post office box. I'll still open the program mail and mind the Needs Letter Writers list. There are now over 100 inmates waiting for letters. If you would like to write to one of these individuals, please contact circle.of.love.inside. I will remain in the program as a letter writer and will continue to visit inmates. I will stay in touch and be supportive as best I can durign this transition period and afterward. Dayamritaswamy has been informed of my decision and he will join in seeking someone to take the lead. Clearly I am being called to move on. I will continue to work locally here with county jail programs and in the community. Aikya -- Rev. Aikya Param Circle of Love Inside
Guest guest
Thanks for explaining things, it's always an inspiration when people do things like you've done. Pity the board hasn't approved it yet. Best of luck to you Aikya, tom Ammachi , " Aikya Param " <aikya wrote: > > Om Amriteshwaryai namah! > > Dear Children of Amma, > > I deeply appreciate the love and generosity of each one of you. > I've been working with COL-Inside for almost 4 years now.
