Guest guest
Hi All, I live in the US. I was offered to purchase a flat at Amritapuri. They said I could just mail them a check with the down payment. It would be a fairly large amount. Is it safe to mail a large check to Amritapuri? Or is there some other way that people send large donations to Amritapuri? Thanks, Advait
Guest guest
Two things - regular mail is not recommended and you need to get a receipt (this is very important please, if you are curious as to why please email me privately) The best thing would be to send it through a devotee going to India. With the South/North India tours starting you should be able to find someone who can take your check and get the receipt. The other option would be to send by courier but then you don't get a receipt right away - so human courier is the way to go. You might also try calling M.A.Center or Br. Dayamrita(let me know if you need his email address) and check if any arrangements can be made. P.S Let me know if you don't find anyone, my wife is planning to go to India on Feb 6th but she wouldn't return until June but is still a good alternative. Thank you, Ravi Chivukula 2 flat loaner at Amritapuri :-) _____ Ammachi [Ammachi ] On Behalf Of chanbaodien Sunday, January 06, 2008 11:06 AM Ammachi Flat at Amritapuri Hi All, I live in the US. Guest guest
I hit upon a solution. I mailed the check and then called my bank to put a temporary " stop payment " on the check. When the right people at Amritapuri confirm to me that they have the check, then I just call the bank and lift the stop payment. Pretty easy and it seems to be secure. Guest guest
Namah Shivaya Joanna, Yes, I did ask Amma. If I remember correctly, a person can only buy a flat if Amma approves.
