Guest guest
I'll try to keep the videos up until next Friday, if possible. I don't want to take them down until things are solidified, because it'd take ALOT of time to re-upload them, and I'm busy doing the Swami P tape conversions to be done before the tour stop in Calif (10 sw. P and 10 sw A left to go, the others were sent already). Please pray for Linden and this situation, he's feeling alot of pressure right now. Some of the swami's he's known from the earliest of Amma days here. It's very shocking and startling to him. One of my complaints with the " org " is the MANNER in which things are done. It makes a huge difference. If anyone feels inspired to petition Amma on his behalf during this tour, please do so. tom
Guest guest
Dear Tom, It seemed innocent enough that Linden or you wanted to share this footage with others on You Tube. You Tube was created exactly for those purposes. It has made many people very happy to view this footage. Possibly either you or Linden could have spoken with someone at the MA center regarding this project to see if it was OK to do this. Maybe now since you have had time to restore this video footage from 1887-1989, you might contact the MA center and Linden, and see if it is possible to offer it to Amma's Org. (Copy Right)so that they can be placed on DVD and made available to the public. Is it three separate videos? Anyway Linden would you consider this? It would be nice to see the footage in its entirety, rather then in segments. I am sure this can be transformed into a win/win situation for everyone. We all got a little carried away in our enthusiasm without really taking into consideration what might be the best way to work with this opportunity of finding old video footage of Amma. Guest guest
Stacee, your concerns and suggestions are valid, but the " org " has never been interested in win/win situations. Even locally, I just found out more " BS " : a devotee was told to stop bringing there guitar to satsang. This is a devotee that has played guitar for a while, but had very seldom brought it to the satsangs I attended (Amma/non-Amma). So it grieves me to learn that once she stepped up, she was shot down. There's other 'weird' stuff at least locally, but I'll maintain the privacy of those who were involved. I think it's over 7 and 1/2 hours. Even if MAC does produce a DVD, it wouldn't be for quite some time, as they're backed up converting their present collection. AND you're assuming they'd even offer it for sale (not likely). It would have to be on multiple DVD's anyways. For example, for the best picture, I was going to split up 1987 into Bhajans and Darshan. HANDS DOWN: Linden took the video lawfully and with permission. They've known about it and never bothered to procure it. They're " pressuring " him to hand over the copyrights. LINDEN OWNS THE FOOTAGE. Like I said, the " manner " in which things are done is what's been creating the rifts in devotees through the years. Linden has told me that because of all this, he doesn't even feel comfortable going to official Amma events anymore. To which I said, " Join the club! " . (Yes, there is a growing membership). You're forgetting the immense joy and other auspicious benefits from having the YT footage up, and even when Linden handed out copies of VHS back in the day. From the message on here, I learned that someone was inspired to help with Circle of Love, wasn't it? Just from meeting Amma through the vids? If it was an issue of Devi Bhava footage or deleting the Sai Baba video (OMG a puja at a Sai altar!), it'd be easier to understand. tom Ammachi , Stacee Kramer <stacee.kramer wrote: > > Dear Tom, > > It seemed innocent enough that Linden or you wanted to > share this footage with others on You Tube. > > You Tube was created exactly for those purposes. Guest guest
Linden has told me that because of all this, he doesn't even feel comfortable going to official Amma events anymore. To which I said, " Join the club! " . (Yes, there is a growing membership). Hi Tom, Sometimes organizations with even the best of intentions have the ability to become a bit of a runaway train. It seems that there are a few who act on behalf of the many it it is very hard to know what is happening in these situations. Are these situations created by the Guru to help with our purification process? It is hard to know if the people who are acting with authority are practicing love and compassion. I hope Linden does not stop going to see Amma, or anyone else for that matter. It is well known that Amma did not want to create an " organization " ...as even this is too limiting a concept. (But see how much has been accomplished under this umbrella, and see how far reaching the scope of this has become, and how many hearts have been touched by this umbrella and all of the dedicated souls who are working to keep this mission going.) Sometimes it is best to stay on the periphery of such things and be an observer, but of course there are times one has to take action if they see something happening that may be a true injustice. Just remember that most of the people behind these situations are still learning and growing as well. We are still to look upon all of this with love and compassion and try not to take ourselves too seriously. Love and Peace
