Guest guest
I saw " Into the Wild " last night, the movie about the kid who hitch-hiked across the US and ended up living off the land and starving to death in Alaska. In spiritual terms, he was renouncing the world, something that comes from within, from previous lives. In the movie, at least, he says that more than anything, he wants Truth from someone. I had read an article that when he was the captain of the track team he'd have his team-members run like it's a " Good against Evil " sort of thing. He had them do other exercises which were unconventional, about taking them out of their comfort zones and challenging them. Remarkable for someone that young. It's actually a very good movie, very inspiring yet respectful of the story. I had never met Chris, but was in the marching band/band class with Carine for 2 years (she was 2 years older than me). Very nice girl. I remember her because she gave me extra attention when my brother had died back then, and anytime you have a hottie doing that, it's great at that age. I never knew of the troubles the family had. She's very blessed to have had such a brother. tom
