A GLANCE

One Glance from you

Causes a collision within

A battle ensues in our eyes;

Extraordinary events begin

Head verses heart

Bone meets marrow

Inner selves

expand and narrow

Intensity grows

Between you and I

Ego knowing

Your it’s demise

Inexplicably I cry

deep within I soar

the love you convey

To hard to ignore

Internally, suddenly

cells begin to quake.

In wonder, gazes part

aware of your wake

I bow down to you

Oh Mother, Oh God,

You left this one humble,

With your glance of Prasad

Caught in a struggle,

a moment in time,

a blissful defeat

All in your eyes.

O’ MIND, WHERE ARE YOU GOING?

O’ Mind, O’ Mind, Where are you going?

You pull me into despair and madness.

You bring darkness only to yourself.

Don’t you know if you surrender

all fortune will bow down to serve you?

Idea’s, memories, and dreams are thoughts of doom,

fight them off with weapons of truth, wisdom, and knowledge.

Do this, and you shall never know bored, tired or weary again.

A BATTLE WITHIN

Amma, a battle rages within of fury and madness

It’s as if I fell from your embrace….

tumbling, tumbling, with no anchor to pull me in,

everything within me a revolt of darkness.

The storm inside rising to attack my clarity.

The conflict, the feud, the duel of the beast,

clawing it’s way up to make its imprint upon me.

Stuggling, choking, wounded and fallen,

engaged with my inner demons, I cry.

At the last miserable hour of doom,

my nemesis comes to devour me.

Screaming in every cell, I call out to you,

“O’ Mother, if you are who you say you are,

surely you will not leave me to destruction!

You are my only lifeline, without you, I shall parish in hell.

Rescue me from this agonizing curse!

At last, running with your sword of truth

screaming your battle cry of sacred mantras

you come to slay my inner demons to ashes.

I call out to you O’ God,

My victory! My armor! My sword! My truth!

What do I have to offer to you as a gift, but my loving devotion.
