Santhosh __________________ Namah Shivaya Brothers & Sisters, As of today, the number of victims of the earthquake in Peru is over 500 killed and 80,000 people have lost their homes. People are sleeping in parks and in the streets. Many areas don't have any electricity or water. The weather is cold at this time in Peru. Two containers are leaving San Francisco to Peru in a week or so. What do we need? ================ -Water. They need lots of water since many houses have been destroyed. -Non perishable food. -Sleeping bags. -Blankets. -Adult and children's clothes. They have to be new. Used clothes must be fumigated by law and there is not time to do it. -Candles. I will be in front of the bookstore Bookbuyers which is located on 317 Castro Street. San Ramon Area: --------------- I'm bringing two trucks to San Ramon to this coming Saturday Satsang on August 25th I will set up a table in front of the temple. Other areas: ------------ If you can't go to either place you can contact me to arrange something different. I have many friends in different parts of California. If you are bringing your donation in boxes leave them open so they can be sorted easily. I might also need some empty boxes. What else can you do? ====================== I might need strong muscles to load my truck with donations and take them to San Francisco. I also might need an extra car. The date is not yet confirmed but if you can help in this way, please let me know. Can you go to Peru and help? ============================ I am considering going to Peru to help the children. There are many orphans after the earthquake and also many children that need some attention while their parents are helping the rescuers. They are traumatized and need some healing. One devotee confirmed that he will go. I am contacting a group of volunteers in Peru and they are keeping me informed of what is needed. I will know if I am going in the next few days.
