Guest guest
I've uploaded the first of the segments of Amma's first tour and visit to the D.C. area. The footage I have is 2 hours long, probably recorded at normal speed which contributed to it's clarity. For those doing alot of video uploads on YouTube, definitely start using the DivX/xvid format. The DivX player is free for PC or Mac (http://www.divx.com). It's the recommended format for Youtube and I can see why. You can take 200MB's of video and reduce it to around 10MB. I'll definitely be using it for even the video's on my storage site. It allows a higher quality original capture then reducing it when you convert it. The purple hue along the left edge and the bottom line appeared during the conversion process to Divx format. Youtube limits videos to 10mins and 100MB. I've taken the 2 hours and am dividing it up into 10 mins or less segments. The first is in the middle of the song Durge, Durge, Durge Jai Jai Ma. There's 5 more songs, then Swamiji leading a meditation, then 1 hour of darshan. To the best of my knowledge, this program was at a Unitarian Universalist Church in Arlington, VA on July 2, 1987, but I could be wrong. Big Swami and another are wearing what looks to be bramachari colors. Most of the bhajan footage is fixed, with an occasional pan. Although no bookstall is present, it is mentioned in the announcements by a staffer, but you'll notice the lack of it in the darshan hall in the later segments to come. You'll also notice that there's no music or singing during the darshan time, and that there's no " human vacuum " system for darshan. A person gets their darshan and takes their time to stand up. Many bring things to Amma to bless, and surprisingly many kiss Amma herself. The footage makes me miss the higher ratio of spiritiuality to fund-raising of the old days, even though the footage pre-dates my Amma-start by 10 years. I'll upload the rest as I get time, this one was a test. The rest should be up by Friday evening. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7upRvfl4Hw If it doesn't come up, search for my screen-name on there which is " zatarraseagull " . It's a priviledge to provide this for devotees, enjoy tom
Guest guest
Thanks Tom!!! Is it possible to get a copy of this on video or DVD? I would be happy to send you the fees for materials and shipping and handling as well as send a donation to the MA center for the video. You may also want to consider making a copy of this for the library at the MA Center, and again, I would be happy to pay for materials and shipping and handling as well as bring it to the MA center for this purpose. I have not seen this in the library there. Light and Peace, Stacee --- tom <tomgull wrote: > I've uploaded the first of the segments of Amma's > first tour and visit > to the D.C. area. Guest guest
I would be happy to make a DVD for anyone, just email me your address. I wouldn't be able to get it out for about 2 weeks or so, assuming my computer has enough memory to do it. I'm still new to video stuff on the computer and DVD burning. I'd probably need $5(?) per copy or whatever the mailing cost is (mailer and postage), I'll let you know later. I've never seen the library at MAC, but will send them a copy later. It's possible they don't want it public. I had sent them stuff years ago and never saw it available to others. It's possible my tape(s) are there in the library. I'm still waiting to receive more videos from my " source " , hopefully the same footage that I had sent to MAC years ago. I've just realized that YouTube's conversion makes it less clear than the original file. I haven't seen the '97 tour video in a while, but at the beginning of that, there were some old clips that were similar in clarity to this one. tom Ammachi , Stacee Kramer <stacee.kramer wrote: > > Thanks Tom!!! > > Is it possible to get a copy of this on video or DVD? > I would be happy to send you the fees for materials > and shipping and handling as well as send a donation > to the MA center for the video. > > You may also want to consider making a copy of this > for the library at the MA Center, and again, I would > be happy to pay for materials and shipping and > handling as well as bring it to the MA center for this > purpose. > > I have not seen this in the library there. > > Light and Peace, > Stacee > > --- tom <tomgull wrote: > > > I've uploaded the first of the segments of Amma's > > first tour and visit > > to the D.C. area.
