Guest guest
In Amma's Feet offering some quotes from " For My Children " selected teachings of Mata Amritandamayi . " Guru and God are there within everyone . But in the beginning, an external Guru is necessary. After a certain stage is reached, one can grasp the essential principles from every object and thereby progress. Until a boy becomes aware of his goal, he studies his lessons out of fear of his parents and teachers. Once he becomes conscious of his goal, he studies his own accord, foregoing sleep and enjoyments like going to cinema. The fear and reverence towards his parents which he had until then was not a weakness. Children, when the awareness of the Goal dawns, the Guru aspect within also awakens. " page 24 " Even though one may come in contact with a Guru, he will be accepted as a disciple only if he is fit. Without Guru's grace, one cannot know the Guru. One who is really in search of the Truth will have humility and simplicity. The Guru's grace will be showered only on such a person. A person full of ego cannot have access to the Guru. page 24 " A disciple may have a possessive attitude towards his Guru. This will not get destroyed easily. The disciple may desire to have continual demonstration of his Guru's love. Some disciples may abuse and leave the Guru when they feel they are not getting it. If one wants the love of the Guru, one must serve selflessly. " page 23 Namaste , joanna
