Guest guest
Aum Namah Sivaya! I'd like to ask if?anyone knows which airlines I should take from the US (Sa Diego area)?to get to Amritapuri? It seems that the best would go to Cochin (Trivandrum is also an option) but most airlines go to Delhi or Mombai, so is there a way to book from the US, a flight that goes as close as possible to the Ashram (Cochin or Trivandrum) and then it seems that I can ask for the Ashram to send a taxi to pick me up. Please help me with this information about the flight or refer me to some one that could help me with this as I need to do this as soon as possible. Meanwhile I am trying to get a confirmation from the Ashram that they can confirm accomodations for me from 12/23 - 01/06. Thanks for any help you can provide. Please email Siglia at sigliadiniz Jai Ma! ______________________ AOL now offers free email to everyone. Find out more about what's free from AOL at AOL.com. Guest guest
You can go via either Cochin or Trivandrum. When I went (2005), all of the flights to Cochin (I was going that way because I was visiting a friend there) were routed through either Mumbai or Delhi. I don't think there were any direct flights. I flew Air India, but I know a lot of people who fly Kuwait Air, because it is cheaper. I believe that stopped somewhere in the Middle East, en route, and went to Trivandrum? Why don't you contact a travel agent who specializes in India trips? S/he would be able to advise. For information about Ashram taxis and reserving accommodations, email international. Guest guest
Singapore Airlines is exceptionally nice. The MA Center used to have some travel information available, such as how to get from airports to Amritapuri, what to bring, what ot to eat, etc ... ammasiswari <ammasiswari wrote: You can go via either Cochin or Trivandrum. Guest guest
Namah Shivaya, I would suggest flying directly into Trivandrum or Cochin. Try any of these 3 airlines: 1. Singapore Airlines. 2. Malaysian Airlines. or 3. Srilankan Air. There are lots of flights out of LA or SFO Intl that connect to these Asian airlines from major Asian cities like Singapore, Hong Kong etc. If not the other option is connecting flights via the Middle East. If this is your first time to India and you are ONLY going to Amritapuri, I would try and avoid flying into other destinations in India, but that's just me. Check this link, it has some info and an email address that you can use to contact them regarding your trip. http://www.amritapuri.org/ashram/directs.php Hope this helps -G --- gahana108 wrote: > Aum Namah Sivaya! > > I'd like to ask if?anyone knows which airlines I > should take > from the US (Sa Diego area)?to get to Amritapuri? > It seems that the best would go to Cochin > (Trivandrum is also > an option) but most airlines go to Delhi or Mombai, > so is there > a way to book from the US, a flight that goes as > close as > possible to the Ashram (Cochin or Trivandrum) and > then it seems > that I can ask for the Ashram to send a taxi to pick > me up.
