Guest guest
A member of the Lenape Nation of Eastern Pennsylvania posted this story about the eagle. To the native people of North America, the Eagle symbolizes the Great Spirit, the Creator. This story helps me to understand why. THE STORY OF THE EAGLE The eagle has the longest life-span of its species It can live up to 70 years But to reach this age, the eagle must make a hard decision In its 40's Its long and flexible talons can no longer grab prey which serves as food Its long and sharp beak becomes bent Its old-aged and heavy wings, due to their thick feathers, become stuck to its chest and make it difficult to fly Then, the eagle is left with only two options: die or go through a painful process of change which lasts 150 days. The process requires that the eagle fly to a mountain top and sit on its nest There the eagle knocks its beak against a rock until it plucks it out. After plucking it out, the eagle will wait for a new beak to grow back and then it will pluck out its' talons When its' new talons grow back, the eagle starts plucking its old- aged feathers And after five months, the eagle takes its famous flight of rebirth and lives for 30 more years Learn from the Eagle Spread Your Wings and Fly Aikya
Guest guest
Ghoraknath has stated that Brahma Rishi Vasishta fell from his position as a rishi. At present he is living in Ellis Nagar in Madurai by the name of Carl figredo. All those who wish to see him can come to Madurai and get his help. Guest guest
Aikya, Is this a story or a teaching that is based on fact? It is amazing. We have heard of the (mythological)phoenix, which goes through a complete rebirth, by going through the fire --- only to be completely transformed into something new. It seems that the Eagle truly does initiate and facilitate its own journey into death and Resurrection. I have heard Babaji say that we all must take courage and walk through fire (Shakti - burning off all that is not of Love, Truth and Freedom.) Guest guest
Aikya, I also wondered if this story was based in truth or mythology. After a " good search " I can find no data to support this story as fact. It is a nice symbolic story. Para ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
