I am touched by all the responses I have received. When I embark on a new

venture, I

usually can tell if it's Godde's will for me by what kind of obstacles are

thrown up in my

way. I come here from a very long, life-long journey towards Godde, and each

turn of the

path comes by itself, not as a result of my striving. My glimpse of Amma was on

TV, by

chance, since I almost never watch 20/20. I just adequately cannot tell you in

words what

the effect of seeing her was....my mother died when I was 10 and I felt this

deep yearning

for a hug from Amma. The TV show awoke such deep feelings of the loss. And a

sense of

Joy that my search for mother-love was over.

Ammachi [Ammachi ] On Behalf Of

Mary E

Ammachi

To Mary: Re: I'm new

Wow, Sweta! Such a lot of good information. My situation is that I am in

Maine,

Maine's a big state, but do you by any chance know a fellow named Dana

Sawyer, who teaches at the Maine College of Art in Portland? Good friend of

mine.

I am the

sole support of my family (husband is retired and suffers from Asperger's)

and still have 3

smaller children at home. We are borderline poverty level. When I don't

work, we don't eat

or pay taxes, etc. When the time is right for me to go see Amma, it will

happen. I don't

worry about things like that, I trust in Godde to guide me.

Just out of curiosity, how come you spell God that way? I've never seen that

before.

I had a vivid dream about Amma

about 8 months ago. I didn't know who she was at the time, just some rather

short,

middle-aged, dark-haired woman, with a big smile, who hugged me and filled

me with

joy. It was very powerful and the feeling of joy remained with me for some

time

afterwards. I will be looking up some of the resources you suggested. I

listened to the

Bhajan clips and loved them.

There used to be a huge collection of Amma bhajans at

http://www.amma-europe.org/english/eservice/index.html that you could listen

to in their entirety, but that's down at the moment. There's other cool

stuff there.

I have always had a love for Indian music, both northern ad

southern and never had any problem understanding Hinduism, with all its

permutations.I

received a mantra, many, many years ago, from a transcendental meditation

teacher-I

guess it is still " good " to use. haha-not expired anyway.

I was a full-time TM teacher for 25 years myself. Amma " recharges " TM

mantras, as well as giving her own. Your choice. I use hers.
