Guest guest
Hello Everyone, My daughter (Aliyah) is entering a Math-a-thon. She will be completing 200 - 250 math problems in seven days! She is asking for pledges of 3c, 5c, or 10c. for every problem she does. For example I am pledging .10c per problem and if she completes all 250 problems I donate $25 dollars. All of this is for a great cause it is to help raise money for the children of St. Jude's Hospital who are battling cancer! You can read about these children at www.stjude.org (Under - No place like St. Jude's). ALL of the proceeds will go to St. Jude's! Thank you in advance for your contributions! Guest guest
Thank you so much Temba! I would like to share a lesson I learned here. My older daughter (Aliyah- 10) came home with this from school and I told her right off that I wasn't doing it. Then she looked at me and said " But mom.... its for a good cause, its to help kids who have cancer " . I told her to sit it on the table and I would think it over. (At the time I was so tired, work etc.) Over the coarse of the next few hours I started to think " WHAT am I THINKING!? My daughter is asking me to do something good for charity and more to the point... KIDS WITH CANCER and your telling her NO!!?? What is WRONG WITH YOU! An AMMA DEVOTEE no less!! This is the kind of thing you should ENCOURAGE! You should be happy your own daughter thinks this way. I then proceeded to tell her that 250 problems is going to be a lot of math. (She struggles in math) She told me " Then I am just going to have to work really hard for those kids " . My heart dropped and I could say nothing in response to that. A few months back my younger daughter (Hannah) who is EIGHT YEARS OLD sees me throwing my mail away and off of the top of her own head said " I want to save the earth! " Out of the blue she said that she wanted to clean up the earth and save her and then she YELLED AT ME because I wasn't recycling my mail!! lol I am so ashamed! She went in my pantry and set a paper bag next to the trash and now puts all my mail and papers in there and we take it to the recycling bin near her school. I have finally came to the conclusion that I am the student and they the teacher. I will send my address when I find out the deadline. At Amma's beloved feet, Robin temba spirits <tembaspirits wrote: out of the mouth of babes the heart speaks.unless we become child-like we will not enter the kingdom of his love..please give AMMAs sun a mailing adress so that he can send something right away.not only does temba want to support the healing of AMMAs children with cancer, but also HER vision of love. >Robin Wilson <lilymoonjewel >Ammachi >ammachi > Help a good cause! >Thu, 5 Apr 2007 07:18:10 -0700 (PDT) > > Hello Everyone, > My daughter (Aliyah) is entering a Math-a-thon.
