Guest guest
Dear all, Whoever Priyadarsi was, it is clear that he had taken a large number of people as captives in the war of Kalinga. Apparently, he had owned many gold bearing areas as his edicts show and hence, he must have used all these captives as slaves in gold mines. If we look at those places where Orissans have settled from ages immemorial, it would be apparent that Priayadarsi had hailed from such a place. In my view, there is only one place apart from the widely accepted Pataliputra and it is Suvarna girl (or Kolar fieds in Karnataka). But I do not any place where people from Orissa have settled for centuries, which will give the clinching proof with regard to Priyadarsi. If there is any information with regard to this, I request the groups members to please post. Kishore patnaik/join
