It is nice that you sent the link for the paper "Satellite imagery and Sarasvati-Tracing the lost river". However I am pained very much know the decision of the authors - scientists to discard the palaeochannels closer to the Aravalli, just because these channels are only a few hundred metres wide. Sarasvati was a river of lakes and one of the lakes was located at Kurukshetra itself. So it is not proper to look for a river wider than a few hundred metres and to make it a point by the authors to discard the original course of Sarasvati that flowed close to the Aravalli and flowed all the way to the sea possibly along with its tributary Luni. As the river started changing its course towards west due to rise of the land levels it is quite possible that river became wider later on as it had to flow through shallower beds. Another reason to investigate this original course of the Satrasvati is that in the

western-flowing Sarasvali channels are of a later period of a maximum antiquity of arounf 3500 BCE only. Therefore should we deprive ourselves from locating the origiginal Sarasvati of the 8th millennium BCE. There is every chance that al least some clay potteries of that era would be found in neighbourhood of the old course passing by the Aravalli. We know from Veda that Vasistha went by boat on the river Sarasvati all the way to the sea and that was around 7000 BCE as we know that Vasishtha was the guru of Lord Rama and the date of Lord Rama is circa. 7300 BCE as found by Dr, Vartak from astronomical data. Dr. Achar also found that earliest date of the Rig Veda would be around that time.

 

I wish that people wake up to trace the original Sarasvati.
