Guest guest
Dear List I would like to present myself After have being kindly invited by KishoreJi, I joined several weeks ago that list Unfortunately, and respected Kishore Ji knows, I was in a thema and not very able to post too much I am catalan, chemist, and I like a lot India and his history. I collect PCM, Kushan, Mughal and sikh coins (among others....). English is not my mother language, and I would apollogize for any mistake I could inconsciously commit. If any of the learned members of the list could help me with names of Shiva, I would be extremely grateful. I have the book of Satya Shrava, and he places as the origin of OESHO in kushan coins the Bavesha. A respected member of Kushans list, SomaiyaJi, said that it comes from Eesha/Isha Seems that the persons that are in sanskrit derivation of OESHO are not very vocal....unfortunately for me.... By the way, I feel myself buddhist. But reading books about Jainism, I have a great doubt. Jainism and buddhism are very related. Jainism being much more strict than buddhism. Mahavira and Gautama Buddha were contemporaries, for all I could being able to read. There are any possibility that both were same person? Teaching is so close, in my understanding With best wishes, and my apollogies to place so many questions Lluís

Guest guest
Namaste, Dr. TewariJi May you be so kind to take a look at those coins (legende on reverse) http://www.zeno.ru/showfull.php?photo=51616 http://www.zeno.ru/showfull.php?photo=39316 and that http://www.zeno.ru/showfull.php?photo=50486 Just reverse Is currently a debate about what deity is described in reverse. I am one of those that beleive that is Lord Shiva, for the attributes. Then legend OESHO should related to Him. Others beleive that is Iranian God Wesh (Vayu) and etimology is good enough. May you be so kind to tell me if there is any possibility that kushans were not saivites? Or not so stretched, that the deity depicted in the gold coin is not Lord Shiva?
