Good day, Ancient India,

It is said, that, the best recorded Indian period starts from c.3rd B.C., (this is with due regards to all other view points - which all are also accepted - please do not raise this issue as i agree with your view point -). Now, between c.3rd B.C., and c.19th A.D., No Indian Scholar ever went to China to learn anything. All those stalwarts (Buddhaghosa to Subhakarasimha) who went there, did so to preach ~ The Way of The Buddha and The methods of Sangha (they were redoubtable Great Scholar preachers)...and everything else, including literature and grammar. The ancient Sinos welcomed it and had acted as Great - Peerless patrons, on the then time line basis.

All those (scholars) who came from Sino territories had done so only to attend Indian Universities-to learn and to acquire, which they did in bounty or as Paribrajaka (learned travelers-tourists).....etc. The Guru-Sishya parampara is noted to have been at full play (nothing new).

Rudolf Hoernle - 1802, has much earlier to the present author (undersigned) had pioneeringly opined the same 'that it is true also in case of ancient India vrs Greece' (full ref can be provided). Greecian technical experts used to visit Indo, not the reverse.

All these does not tantamount to me suggesting that my pedigree is GREAT, someone else's is not. No. I mean, present India more correctly the subcontinent had a very extra ordinary environment which we tentatively can term as 'Academic Meteorology'.....i.e. excellently conducive (annual) weather/sub-continental climate. This allowed simple living and high thinking, which any scholar across the globe represents and resonates-in body and mind. Eavery scholar (Brahmana - of yore) loved and loves. There are no exceptions.

Today, California is somewhat comparable. But it has a very strong history of Earth quakes. It also does not have the 6 seasons. Seasons play significant influence on human mind-thought-expressions-moods..........on & on.

We need lot of authentic data, should we try to revise these well accepted/established aspects of known History.

Data (pertaining to revision) is welcome, will be acknowledged with love and respect.

Cordially,

1 -Today, the 2nd Feb, 2009, is Magha Saptami Snana at Chandrabhaga - Konaraka, Orissa. A important date in the Hindu Solar Calendar.

2 - Tomm. is Bhismaastami and Maha Laxmi vrata in the Great shrine of Mahapravu Sri Jagannath Dev at Puri - Orissa.

A very interesting date in the Hindu Luni Calendar.

Remember - the term Hindu is used to define geo-spatial domain (time & space), because the Sun and the Moon's astronomical phases arise out of transit which is visible only from given domains (latitudes & longitudes). If it happens annually - the domain is something very special ???
