Guest guest
Thanks to indefatigable cutter- and paster M.Kelkar for the Talageri section about Mitanni Indo-Aryan, or rather, about me...Enough to show T's usual aggressive style: Whenever he does not like the data and my discussion, I am "fraudulent"...Well, as he is neither a linguist nor a philologist, nor seems to know (Vedic) Sanskrit (not to speak of Mitanni-Hurrian and its script), but must instead rely on cuts and pastes, he misses all important clues.Of the three items, (1) Mitanni ai not Vedic e, (2) Mit. zh (sh) not Ved. h, and (3) Mit. azhd(h) not Ved. ed(h)the e case is the weakest but takes most space in T's "fraudulence" rant. (I have a paper on that in my drawers, for a long time). Of course, T. misses the inner-Vedic evidence for it. Complex. To escape via "redaction of the Rgveda was late, some changes could happen", is a cop out. Of course, he missed the most important clue, hidden behind Mit. azd / Ved. ed, which 100% shows that Mitanni-IA is EARLIER than *anything* in the RV.Have a good search!I am not going to tell this list now, but will publish all of this, in proper form, when I finally get his book and ... in the (unlikely) case that i will have some time to spare on this 3rd Avatar of the same "absolute proof" that he has announced twice, earlier. -- WiIl we get 7 more Avatars? T. should have adhered, in spite of some help from Dr K. Elst, to the old adage (transl. "cobbler, stay with your tools!" i.e. do his banking and cobble up some "inspirational" Hindutva blogging, but not try Vedic language, and --may Sarasvati save us-- "Ancient History."Cheers,MW>On Jan 24, 2009, at 1:18 AM, mkelkar2003 wrote:Talageri 2009 Mittani IA.pdf in the files section. Guest guest
Dear Dr. Witzel, This is off-topic, but do you know of any new research into the locations of so-far un-pinpointed tirtha mentioned in MBh. VanaParva? I'm very interested in knowing the exact location of all of them! Thank you. Katherine Brobeck ps I have Bhardwaj's book pps I met you once when you came out to Lincoln years ago, for a 'walk in the colored leaves'
