Thank you, Sir. In fact, based on your inputs, I was planning to write a good post in AncientIndia as well as IndiaArchaeology, in reply to Koenraad Elst.

The word could have been attested in Rgveda as Sanaka. The meaning of the word changed not only with times but more interestingly, the geographical area to which Yavana belongs changed too. It changed from Western Countries to Eastern ones.
