IApparently, he had used them for gold digging, as most of his edicts aare placed in gold bearing areas. If we look at those places where Orissans have settled from ages immemorial, it would be apparent that Asoka had hailed from such a place. In my view, there is only one place apart from the widely accepted Pataliputra and it is Suvarna girl (or Kolar fieds in Karnataka) If there is any information with regard to this, I request the groups members to please post.
