Guest guest
Dear all, In response to a post I have made with regard to the horoscope of Lord Rama, there were more than 120 mails discussing the horoscope. The discussions were necessary as there are some confusions in the chart proposed by Valmiki. In fact, it is yet to be clear whether such a chart is really described by Valmiki or was it interpolated. I think astrological interpretations is a sure way to find the dating of our vedic personalities. I invite comments from the group. regards, Kishore patnaik 98492 70729
Guest guest
namasthe kishorji, there is no confusion. valmiki ramayana has given the star positions at the time of birth of sri Rama and his three brothers. And he has consistently throughout the various kandas and sarga maintained a persistent astronomic astrologic reference. And this is consistent with atharva veda 19 - 7 - garhya sUkta on nakshatra regards kedar , " Kishore patnaik " <kishorepatnaik09 wrote: > > Dear all, > > In response to a post I have made with regard to the horoscope of Lord > Rama, there were more than 120 mails discussing the horoscope. Guest guest
Dear Kedar, I request you to please visit my group on Vedic astrology Groups.Vedic Astrology-india I have posted the discussions on the chart of Sri Rama there. Mainly, some people think this sloka pertaining to the birth of Sri Rama might have been inserted at a later date, since there was no concept of Rasis at the time of Valmiki. The confusions mentioned by me are the confusions in the interpretation. I did not say Valmiki is confused. regards, Kishore patnaik On 1/8/08, kedarnath <jkedarnath99 wrote: namasthe kishorji, there is no confusion. valmiki ramayana has given the star positions at the time of birth of sri Rama and his three brothers. Guest guest
namasthe kishorji, You want to find " raasis " in the veda? you search the world's worst translations - Bloomfeld, Griffith, Vedic Concordances - you will find nothing. You pick up a spattering of Sanskrit and look for Raashi's in the Veda or Valmiki Ramayana or Mahabharatha and you cannot see because of mindset.. This mindset robs of you of intelligence not to look for raashi but to look for " dvaadasha " and Lo! vedic origins become transparent and crystal clear... Now what can be done? It is not Alexandria where the goons could burn libraries... In the area where you live right next door is the veda pandit - the purohit that has shradda. So how can so called scholars talk rot about there being no knowledge of " raasi s " what are the " dvadasha maasa " references and soma in the rik veda for? Probably led to believe that there were huge drug parties and veda pundits getting high and screwing around? the soma ras and graavaana (grinding pot) and killing cows and eating ... or eating horse meat? Invaders did similar things and near wiped out the Mayan civilization. India - you cannot. , " kishore patnaik " <kishorepatnaik09 wrote: > > Dear Kedar, > > I request you to please visit my group on Vedic astrology > > Groups.Vedic Astrology-india > > I have posted the discussions on the chart of Sri Rama there. > > Mainly, some people think this sloka pertaining to the birth of Sri Rama > might have been inserted at a later date, since there was no concept of > Rasis at the time of Valmiki. > > The confusions mentioned by me are the confusions in the interpretation. Guest guest
Dear Kedar, 1. I follow a telugu translation for Vedas. 2. That there is no mention of Rasis in Vedas is the traditional view and not of western idea. My own personal view is not formed in this regard but I have seen slokas in Lagadha's sermons which discuss Rasis However, the dwadasa discussed by you indicate months and not Rasis. You may please give references in substantiation. 3. I am a vedic astrologer myself My views are more traditional. The calender stuff is more radical. HOwever, I want to hear everyone so long as they substantiate what they are talking Since you are stubbornly refusing to visit the actual discussion so that you can get a clear view of what I was saying, I may give the gist here for the benefit of other members and posterity: Valmiki said that there are 5 planets in Swatocha or own/exalted places. This was always interpreted as own exaltations. ie there are 5 planets in their own exaltations. I disagreed with interpretation and not with Valmiki. when you say a planet is in exaltation, it means it is posited in its OWN exaltation. This punarukti is not required. Hence, it must be swa+ ucha ie 5 planets are posited auspiciously in either their own or exalted positions. The major problem with the traditional interpretation is with Rama's Birth star. If you accept the traditional interpretation, Sun would be in his exaltation, in Aries and there is no way Moon could be in Punarvasu. Since Valmiki is very clear about the naksatra, I opposed the traditional interpretion and offered various other possibilities. For details, you may visit the group mentioned above. regards, kishore patnaik , " kedarnath " <jkedarnath99 wrote: > > namasthe kishorji, > > You want to find " raasis " in the veda? you search the world's worst > translations - Bloomfeld, Griffith, Vedic Concordances - you will > find nothing.
