Guest guest
My first reaction to the first few days of mail on this group was also that it was a pessimistic approach. In any exploration, we need to seek Truth through light and unity, not darkness and diversity. Pointing the fingers at anyone, whether a historical event, a political group, a race, a culture, a country or a caste will only add more darkness blurring us from seeing the light. Those of us who seek Truth must spread Truth, by replacing the ignorance of the world with consciousness. Let us concentrate on what is Right, not spend our energies on what has been or gone wrong in the past or in the minds of others today. By finding the truth ourselves and sharing it as we are allowed, we have met our Purpose. Our group mails could be about what we Know to be true, and then all that is not true will naturally fall by the wayside without us even needing to speak to it. Guest guest
Jai Ramji Ki! Dear Friends: Absolutely! But it is also possible to share the task with others. For example, we should support graduate students with the aim of exploring the achievements of ancient Indians. Regards, Dhruba. Guest guest
This group is established in order to bring together professionals and amateurs alike reading into the ancient Indian history. Why do we need another forum for people reading into ancient india? So far as I have seen there are various schools who read into the Indian history and everybody has some truth in what they propose. How ever, it is only a partial truth that seems to be evident in their writings. Some times, writings deviate from the apparent logic, in favour of prejudice, ideology or polemics. Even those, for who these kind of leanings are apparently absent, the prejudices are internalised into them when it comes to reading history, say in terms of conclusions or interpretations. It is not pointing finger at any one school. Every school associated with ancient india is correct in someways and perhaps, not so correct in others. In such an event, it is necessary that all these schools are to be brought to gether, read together and extract the truth from each of their writings. " ekam sat viprah bahudah vadanti " so it is essential for the real researcher to look into what that lonely truth is and why the viprah intrepret it in myriad ways. I agree that it is not only a gigantic task but also, a sensitive one. But, all the same exciting and gratifying. so, friends, it is with this kind of hope and thought- with search of truth alone as the goal in mind- that this group has been established. How ever, when aslam rasoolpuri has questioned the purpose of search into the long last past, where there seems to be none(the purpose, I mean), I too wanted to know whether there is any purpose for the studious seriousness, especially an immediate sociological one, other than the academic interest.{no doubt, this question has not been addressed in all dimensions but it is essential to note that this group, in one tone, has taken a stand- say no to prejudice} ladies and gentlemen, thus you would see that there is no scope for pessimism or partiality or prejudice. Personally, I am interested in only the truth and I hope this group would be too and hence, scale great heights in searching and preserving the truth. May the Almighty be with us in such endeavour. kishore
