Guest guest
Thank you to all who contributed to this thread. The books (among the more recent) recommended by most people were: Aklujkar, Shook. 1992. Sanskrit: An Easy Introduction to an Enchanting Language. Richmond: Svadhyaya Publications. Desponded, Madhya M. 1999. Samskrta-Subodhini: A Sanskrit Primer. Michigan: Centre for South & Southeast Asian Studies. Goldman, Robert P. & Sally J. Sutherland. 1987. Devavanipravesika: An Introduction to the Sanskrit Language. Berkeley, CA: The Center for South and Southeast Asian Studies. Maurer, Walter Harding. 2001. The Sanskrit Language: An Introductory Grammar and Reader. Rev.ed. Routledge. I have ordered these and others from my library so that I may compare them before I make my choice.
