Here is a screenshot of a panchang that I downloaded of the net from Kadavaul (Himalayan Acedemy) website. It indicates Sivatri to be performed on Thursday. Looking at the screenshot, oine should note that during evening hours of Thursday, chatursdasi kicks in. Last year, I was under similar confusion and was advised by some learned member at that time that since Sivaratri is an occasion that is to bew celebrated at night, the tithi in the night hours, especially during midnight is the determinining factor. That seems to conform to the the suggestion on this panchang as well. We also have temples in Toronto that will be celebrating Sivaratri at night on Thusrday thru early hours on Friday morning.
