Guest guest
Sir, Namaste. In Pooja system there are different methods. Generally Shodasopachara is the system to be observed during the pooja in our home. Naivedyam is one in the Sixteen Upacharas to be done during poojas. After Doopa and Deepa, Naivedyam is to be done. In a Grihasta house we should not take lunch without offering it to the Deity whom we worshilp in our house. Annam(rice), Sweets, fruits any of these things can be offered to the Lord with Devotion. Nivedanam , the samskrit word means to show, to inform, to offer. But we must have a Bhava, with in our heart that the Almighty God accepts our offering when we do it with purity of heart. Anything and everything in this world and even this whole universe is the creation of God. What is that we could offer to him which is not in his creation. But just like a child offers a bit of sweet to it's mother and father which is presented by its father himself , and when the child pout it in the mothers mouth she immensle pleases the Great Loving Mother,Almighty also please to accept our offerings. The real offering to God is nothing but our own Self. And this outwordly Naivedyam is only symbolic. Hari.Venkataraman
